I stopped by to see a friend, a woman I have been platonic friends with for about 3 years.
We keep in touch, discussing, job search, school, kids and SO's.
I said I want to tell you something about me. It has been a part of me
for many years. She was surprised, wondered why, but just hard for her to understand. No condemnation, no jokes. I asked her for a little help with makeup. She said she would try.
Once I figure out this makeup thing, I think she might go to lunch with me,
as Karen.

Good for you, I take it by your post that your wife does not know about
your outher style. Please be carefull that she does not find out about
your friend, and take it the wrong way. Good luck. Rader

I had a friend like that during my first marriage. My wife didn't understand but her bf did and I was her mailman. We spent hours together everyday. It was suspected that we were having an affair but it was only friendship

It is almost funny, to us it is this build up with the worst outcome possible in our minds. But in reality, when we do "come out" half of people don't bat an eye. Of those who do react negatively a fair chunk have something hiding in their closet.

Yes that is a good point, most of the horrible things that we imagine are just that - imagined. For the most part coming out is very much a non-event these days. Don't get me wrong there can be some people who do have a very strong negative reaction to this but for the most part I find that most people do not react to it negatively at all.

That's good. Be aware, though that she may have no clue how to hide beard-shadow.

Personally the only person I've come out to is my GF and that was hard enough. My next goal is to show my GF when she's ready but personally I'm scared I won't look good
