Recently there was a discussion about the effects of soy protein in larger doses upon testosterone with interesting effects. Naturally, for one wired as I am, it was a superb suggestion! I went to Ebay, purchased two large containers of soy protein-strawberry pink flavor (which is already getting a bit old tasting)- and mix it with 1% milk. I hope that the very 'soy isoflavones' blamed for the retired military man's slight gynocomastia will work as reinforcement with the meds I take ! I would truly like to increase my barely A to a full A and larger with luck without megadosing the estrogen pills. I can't imagine that the 1 scoop a day should get me in trouble.
I wonder if others have been on a soy protein regimen for a while and could share their findings? hugs, helenr

Sorry hun, I haven't tried it, though I have read on here that it does work. I wish you the best and hope that you can grow to at least "b"

trying to do an end run around the medical community with "herbal" supplements and the like is extremely foolish, and has the added benefit of being expensive and risky.

If you are pushing enough plant estrogen into your body. for long enough, to do anything to your boobs, you are pushing in enough estrogen to cause all of the bad side effects.

If you are going to mess around with hormones, for the love of all that is holy and good - do it right and with a doctors supervision.

If you have a good diet and exercise routine, and your protein powder contains all your essential amino acids, you could probably eat up to about 30 percent of your calories from protein shakes (30-40-30 diet). Look on the package, though, at things like saturated fat and compare to the RDA values. Either way, I think you'll get really tired of eating that stuff really fast, and I don't think you'll get much feminization out of it. Protein powder can be a great supplement, but it tastes awful.

Your best bet is probably to take doctor prescribed hormones. Less gross taste, better results.

I don't do the protien shakes too many calories, but the major part of my daily diet is tofu and soy products, a little fish, beans and no meat. My choice of doing this was not for the estrogen but a great source of protien, little fat, and low in calories. (Atkins without the fat) I have lost 22 lbs over the last 6 months, cholesterol is down to 158 from my base line of 195. My blood work showed level of estrogen is still elevated, not as high as I was on hormones, but still elevated. I plan on returning to the hormones when I reach my desired weight for I couldn't lose the weight while on them.

The isoflavones in soy are indeed phytoestrogens and can have an effect though normally it is only a " balancing" effect. To achieve any real noticable growth using only soy protien shakes you would have to take massive amounts of it. As with anything else, that would be bad and with protein powder it can be quite bad indeed causing acidosis and loss of some essential minerals among other not very pleasant side effects. On the plus side, soy is very good for you diet wise and is a great source of many things we all need both men and women. I would add things like tofu and edamame to your diet to replace things like red meat.

I prefer eating the meat of the critters that feed on soybeans.

It's healthy for you, but you would need dump truck load to get any effect.

Flax seed has almost 4 times the amount of phytoestrogens in it as soy. I've been eating it everyday for years with my oatmeal in the morning as it's a very good source of Omega-3 fatty acids. Resulting breast growth? Nada. Six weeks on hormones? No visible growth yet but they are very tender.

And I have also heard that phytoestrogens will compete with any real estrogen you may be taking for a spot on the estrogen receptor sites. So not only will it not do anything, it may prevent the genuine thing from doing anything either.

Let's try and remember that in Asia they eat huge amounts of soy protein and the men are not sprouting boobies yet....

Sophia as per your own post you better give up the flax seed if you expect the hormones to do any good.

thanks for the input .I agree that the soy gets tiring after a while. strawberry shakes are getting old after only a week! Maybe it is am much mental as anything else (is that the majority of what we are all about?).
But it is fun to imagine the results.
