I bought some really nice work trousers, but altho they fit really nice, i wasn't happy with my hips and bum in them!! and how they fit across the front (cause i got no nature hips or bum! lol )

Before:

http://images52.fotki.com/v638/photos/1/1584681/8099950/D1030442-vi.jpg

so i made some hip pads! Bought some soft 1 inch thick foam, and made two hip/bum pads

Took a while shaping them but fairly pleased with the end result. Used a pair of those extra thick and tight hip and waist pants to make them fit and make it appear more natural:

Its strange!! because, i love seeing the shape of my hips from my own eyes, and love how they make my bum and crotch area look - but i do feel a little conceous that i now got big hips!!! (if that makes sense!!)

Its odd how u look in the mirror can mess with ur brain!!

What do u think girls?

I cut out two curved L shaped pieces that were big enough to cover my upper leg and around to the top of my bum area!

Then had to shape the edge down loads so it would fit fairly flush!!

Kept doing trial fits and further trims until it look good enough!!

Did take about 2 hours tho - with scissors, would prob be easier with a sharp knife to get a smoother cut!

good job! I've tried the foam cutting myself and can say that a knife doesn't do much better... I was told at the craft shop that an electric carving knife would be the best, but didn't have great results either.

You've ended up with a realy nice shape there! :heehee:

Those are brilliant.

Thanks for posting how to make them.

How do you wear them? What part goes where?

Great results! I've thought about doing this before and think I will give it a try after seeing that it does work. But 1 inch was thick enough? My initial instinct would be to go a little thicker, either by getting thicker foam or doubling up.

That is such a great idea....i've been avoiding trousers because of exactly that reason...will have to get some of that foam, have been experimenting with some old scarfs under my tights since reading this..bit tricky though..but its amazing what a little bit of padding does..thanks...thats on my to do list now..you like great..

Craft stores suggest electric knife to cut foam shapes but the perfect tool is an electric heat knife. It allows you greater flexability in contouring which results is finished edges. You can purchase different styled padden panties, remove the pads and use as a guide while customizing replacements to fit the look your seeking. Knifes like those I'm refering to can be purchased off the internet from manufactures.

Now, u may understand WHY I go to so great lengths to look more FEM! It's ALL about what I see in my mirror!:D

I've made a number of sets of hip/butt pads out of foam. And had GOOD LUCK using scissors. But, u need REALLY SHARP ONES!

Start by making large cuts. ( They end up looking like gouges). Then, make smaller and smaller cuts, until your pads r smooth, and gradually tapered!:)

Kelly,I predict your NEXT set will be easier, and better!:heehee:

This certainly looks like a copy of a product on sale in the UK except not of the same high standard.

But the hip pads in this product are the exact same shape as you have done.

Seems you may have seen this product...........well?

They look great.
How do they fit?
It may be a stupid question but how do they fit to your shape to give hip and but?

As a suggestion, instead of one inch thick foam you might try layering 1/4 inch thick or thinner pieces together. They would be easier to cut and the finished product should be more uniform. After you have pieces cut out and stacked, then you can use a spray foam adhesive to glue them all together.

I like the idea of shape that you are using. The old pads, with the round or oblong shapes just don't seem to really get it.

Nice job!

And whats would be the problem with using a design seen elsewhere?
Kelly isn't selling them.
Just exposing how easy it is to make something so simple, that is frankly a rip-off to buy!
The ones Vicky reffers to cost in the region of £30, Kelly's cost probably a tenner and a couple of hours work.
Sounds like you may have bought some by the way you hint at Kelly's being a lower standard, eh Vicky?

How about aplauding her skill and ingenuity?

Nice work Kelly, Love a bit of DIY! :D

Very well said sweetie!
It seems Vicky lacks the ability or the drive to create something herself.

Good job Kelly!
The photos look great!

I bought something like that some years ago and wore them under a girddle but the girddle made them too flat so I just wore them under a light pantie girddle which work great on me. they also came with a front section to give that rounded out look just wish I knew what happen to them

I've made a few different hip pads, they are fun to experiment with! In the end, my favorite has been something that is a cross between the Veronica and LegAffects.

I never knew I was so crafty until I had a reason to be haha!

You did almost exactly what I did. The high rise shaper is a good idea for pulling in the waist too. For mine, I got some 'george' brand low rise thigh shapers (they go down too low...below my knees) to wear with my low rise jeans. You need the shaper to hold them in place and to smooth the edges. The results are great. One inch makes a world of difference. The main problem is, once you are dressed up, forget taking a quick bathroom break, it is no easy task to pull them on and off without having to reposition everything. I tried wearing some old pantyhose on the inside, foam in the middle and tights on the outside and I used spray glue on the foam and hose to hold them together with some success. Looks good...works great with jeans too!

Kelly

you did a great job! being shapely is important...

doesn't this site have a place to buy female undergarments? [padded shareware] if not there is a place you can buy the 4 pad shapeware.....i have them with 2 hips and 2 for the bum... they work just great.... and not too expensive. the pads can pop out so as to wash the garment.

i will try to find the site for you

hugs
