I am so tired of the heat and not wanting to wear my wig. I'm growing my hair out, so I decided to see what I would look like with full makeup. While I dont think it will rate me as a hottie, it didnt come out too bad. What do you girls think? No need to be gentle. Give me the honest truth.

I think your right... not bad at all! You've got great hair (bitch), grow it out a bit and you could do some amazing things with it I'm sure. Even as short as it is right now I think you could go out and slip under the radar of most.
~Sigrid
p.s. try on a pair of girly sunglasses for me and post another pic.

Hi Charlene! Being a fan of long hair, I have to admit the short hair looks cute! XO Arula.

Thank god you cant see my eyelashes, no telling what you would call me then. :D I will always have to go with bangs though as my family is blessed with large forheads, plus I am receding a little bit. I guess I need to experiment a bit more with this look. Now if I could just figure a way to get the hair on top of my head to grow faster while slowing hair growth elswhere  . Thanks for the compliments.

Charlene presents very well using a short femme cut...definately.
If the shape of the upper head is ideal, hair growth healthy, and if ears do not noticeabley extend too far...then such cuts would be convenient and even appropriate for most images.
One very odd effect that I experienced (from my "butch"shortcut days) which I want to touch on...is the unpredictable reactions of TG-hostile and homophobic segments of the general population.
When I began growing my natural hair longer...the antagonistic unpredictabilities began to noticeably trend DOWNWARDS!!!...(please note I reside within a generally antagonist, sex-typed suburban environment).
For what it's worth...

You look terrific, Charlene. There's this thing that a wig is a wig is a wig, but there's no way to duplicate the naturalness of your own hair, assuming, of course, that you have enough of it. :)

Ok The decision has been made, with all your help of course. The wig goes bye bye. By the time it will be cool enough to wear it my hair should be long enough for Bunny to attack it with her curling iron. Right now she thinks I have the Schoolteacher look.
Marla, Bunny thinks It looks cute.
Khriss, Bunny has her matching pair but mine are on backorder  . Size 14 go figure.
Amy and Stephanie, we had 2 weeks of 110+ heat.
Carla, sunglasses pic coming.
Everyone else, thank you for your great comments.

Fertalizer?I'm in the process of growing my hair out also and would certainly like to speed up the process. The length of your hair is'nt too bad a lot can be done with short hair.
It looks perfectly fine Charlene. My wife wears her hair short all the time, about the same length as yours and I have always loved the way she wears it. She keeps it just long enough on top to use the curling iron, but the sides and back are always short.
Myself, although I have plenty of hair up top, it absolutely has a mind of it's own. It's pretty curly on the top so it grows out and not down. I have never had any success with trying to grow long hair, and playing guitar in a band in the 70's/early 80's, hair was the THING. So therefore I know I will always be resigned to a wig to get the femme look, but that's ok.
Really good look for you though!!

Charlene, I think is looks fantastic. I have been thinking I need a shorter style, and after seeing your pic. I'm going to give it a try. I won't have nearly the same wonderful results as you, but I really like the style.

a few years ago, I spent some time with a very sexy lady who looked a lot like Jamie Lee, and I have been fond of Jamie Lee ever since. Once your hair grows out just a bit, to allow for a bit more styling, I think you will be killer attractive. go girl. wenda.
