This last week Monday thru Saturday I was on vacation. I visited my daughter for the Thanksgiving holiday in Atlanta GA. This was my first vacation away from home in years. I went totally as myself and spent the whole week as me. Travelling thru the airports using the womens room etc. Met many of her friends and went out to restaurants and actually one gay bar that my daughter frequents. Found Atlanta very friendly, it was very therapeutic for me to be accepted everywhere I went. Mind you I'm not very passable so it was a wonderful week for me.

Unfortunately, was not able to meet up with some of Atlanta sisters, but that's okay.. Kimberly :battingeyelashes:

I'm glad for you, Kim. I recently got in a similar situation, my children recently moving with their mother back to Quebec. I'm well on my way to transition full-time, about 6 months on hormones, most of the facial hair zapped out, need more clothes, shoes and jewelry to make it full-time (but who doesn't... ;-))

The one big difference for me is that my kids are 5 years old, 2 twin boys, and with the stress of the recent move and the announcement of Mom's and Dad's separation, I did not want to add to it by telling that Daddy is no longer a man, but should now be called Melanie and treated like a woman... I will eventually, but I'll give them some time to cope with their current issues.

However, as you did, I long to go to the airport, show a passport with my real name, board the plane and visit my sons as who I really am. I truly envy you to now be able to do so.

Thank you for this testimony. It gives me hope!
