Well got dressed and got the courage to go for a drive around the block. It happened that I turned the opposite way & wound up driving all the way through town. Got a little more courage and went to next town & stopped at Payless, went in and started looking at slingbacks and Pumps and flats another customer came in so I got a little nervous and left. I started to go back to the house but thought I'm out lets go to Galveston which is about 20 miles away, got there and decided to go have a drink at the Cd/friendly bar had a couple of glasses of White Zin and used the ladies and left. Drove back home not nervous at all while driving, so far it has been the best day for Deann Renee yet. I now feel liberated.:battingeyelashes:

That's so excellent, Deann! I bet it was a real confidence-builder. Next time, finish your shoe shopping before leaving the store, no matter who comes in. :)

Deann,

That is really great. Venturing out for the first time is far scarier than any job interview ever invented. You go girl!

Congratulations!

Sounds like you had a real ball.

You were much braver than I was when I first went out.

Deann Renee, Congratulations for getting to where you are!

Wanna hear something funny?
I am actually going en femme to a party next weekend.
That being said, that in NJ, all gas stations are full serve, and I am more than happy to show my femme face to have someone else pump gas for me.

The reality is, from my universe, I think humanity has become a bit dull in the last 10 years, and I have no problem changing that.

The first time I drove while dressed was on a Halloween night. On my way home I got stopped in a DUI checkpoint. I had not been drinking and the officer sent me on my way but failed to compliment me on my beautiful hair and makeup. It was a great evening to improve my self confidence.

Is it true that "Friends don't let Friends drink WHITE Zinfindel"? Try a nice full bodied, oaky Cab next time....then call for one!

Congratulations. I just love being a girl! Now, you can be one too!

in NJ, all gas stations are full serve,

Really? That's awesome... I'm in Texas, and in all my travels... Between Texas, Colorado, Mississippi, Kentucky, and Alabama... I have never, ever seen a full-service gas station. I didn't think they existed anymore.

The reality is, from my universe, I think humanity has become a bit dull in the last 10 years, and I have no problem changing that.

Just the last 10 years? ;) I think it's been ever since the 80s. Fashion in the 60s and 70s was cool and funky at the time, and then the 80s was all boring and uptight. I don't think we ever fully shook that off. I always joke that "NOTHING cool happened in the 80s. Okay, well, I was born. But other than that, NOTHING."
