Earlier today, I told my team at work about me and that I will come to work as Melanie next Monday. That went very well. The women were very supportive and some men were even overprotective, rushing to open the door... And I feel like a enormous weight has been lifted from my shoulders. I no longer have to maintain 2 lives, just the one I care for! :)

I even started changing my name in the parts of the computer system I could manage. Ahhh, the feeling of seeing my new name in the work place... :D

Tomorrow morning, I will wash all my male clothes and put them away. It is the beginning of a new life, and I intend to enjoy every minute of it!

Note: I will update my picture as soon as I can get my camera to work...

Cheers,

AllieSF

Awesome, Melanie. Congratulations and best wishes that it continues to go well for you. But don't put those boy clothes away, Burn 'em! ...On second thought, give 'em to Goodwill so they'll get some use by an actual male, who likes to wear them. hee hee! Keep it up, sweetie.

Hugs,

Melissa:)

That's awesome Melanie, congratulations. :hugs::hugs:

Make those old male clothes useful and donate them to the local thrift store or shelter. You won't be needing them anymore, you can write it off your taxes, and it will make more room in your closet for new things.

I think come Monday you will find more support and acceptance from more people than you expected.

Best wishes for you.

I'll certainly get rid of my men's clothes at some point. In a sense, I do not "hate" my previous (male) life. I believe I had to live it in order to get to the point I am today. I guess the stowing away is just another way to say :bye:

Thank you all for your encouraging words. I'm going to celebrate accordingly, shopping for stuff I forgot to buy last week... ;-)

(And I finally updated my profile picture, yeah!)
