thanks DANA. it's just that what tristen has said' 39.1KB is max. i have HP PHOTO SMART. just can't discern between KB'S and pixels. it's smart and i'm dumb. got a few through though' so i will figure this out in time. if you have any little hints' please let me know. by the way' you look great!!

Pixels are how big physically the pic is, how wide and how tall it is. For example, 800 x 600 pixels is 800 pixels wide by 600 pixels tall, which is the size that a lot of people use for their monitor resolution - that means your screen size is 800 x 600 pixels. Another example is your avatar pic, that is 125 x 125 pixels.

KB are kilobytes, and that is a measure of file size.

You crop a picture (or resize or resample it) to make the pixel size smaller, which also makes the KB (file size) smaller (a smaller picture has less pixels which means a smaller file size).

You change the jpg compression (if you can do that) to make the file size smaller but leave the picture the same pixel size.
