I am always painting my toe nails.
At first it was for an hour while I was alone and had to take it off before the wife came home.
I am getting more sneaky now and paint them pale pink, I can generally keep the paint on a few days before I lose the nerve and remove it.
Does any one out there paint them all the time and have any of you been caught out with painted toe nails? :p

I have currently had my toes polished for 11 months solid, it has only been off long enough to put on new polish. When I see my toes for those 5 minutes with it off, they look downright weird, and pretty ugly too - I couldn't imagine going without polish now....

I usually have a clear "strengthening" coat on. Yesterday I replaced it with a hot bright deep pink. I'll go back to clear in a few days. wenda

For the past few months I have had my nails painted a cute bright metallic pink colour, they look sooo cute with nail polish I wouldn’t want to take it off now (except for trimming and re-applying).

I have been painting my now for two weeks. I try different colors each time. Right now they are a bright sparkly blue color. I have been going out walking with sandals on and no one has said anything yet.

Actually, my wife and I like to share a bottle of wine and paint each others toenails. We have this "date" about every two weeks, and we alternate who picks out the color. We're real "party animals" as you can tell.....but I love it. We both get to pamper each other, and it's a sweet secret to know our toes look the same! :p
Have never been "caught".....at least yet. My feet just don't look right when the tootsies are "naked."

Very cool Lynne :) Sharing a bottle of wine and painting your nails together, awesome!
Jayne, painting your nails is so much fun isn't it? I always keep mine painted. In the summer I have to be careful because I like to wear sandals and so the color is usually either a very pale pink or a color I have called "white petal." All other times of the year though they are all manner of colors.
I totally agree with Dana when she says that for the few minutes that your toes are bare when applying a new color makes my toes look hideous. I much prefer my feet with painted toenails.

Hi, Jayne !
I'll keep my toes painted for weeks at a time. The redder the better.
To me, nothing looks sexier than red nails under suntan hose.
I have been doing it for about 3 years, now, so the SO knows, and, it's no
big deal now.
I do have an unusual problem, because I ride a motorcycle to work, and
always have to change my shoes at work. Have to be sure that the socks
don't have holes in the toes! Some days are better than others!
Enjoy it, dear! It's a wonderful way to express yourself. And to have a
good laff at the expense of the up-tight****s of the world! :D

Billie

Stacie23 and I went to Lake Michigan on Satruday to watch the sunset. I was in Mike mode but was wearing shorts, suntan hose, and sandals. Toenails painted a purply-red. No looks or comments. In fact, earlier that day we were all over town shopping and I was in the same outfit. Nobody notices. For what it's worth, I wear pantyhose every day with shorts in male mode. This was the first time, however, that I did so with painted nails and open toe shoes. For the record, I painted them for our wedding cuz Stacies were painted and I was jealous. :)

The other day my wife asked me if I was wearing nail polish on my toes, it's kind of a light pink, not too noticable, and I just giggled and replied, yes, I thought they were ugly and I thought painting them pink would make them prettier. All I got was a giggle in return! She must know that I'm a little off-tune, if you know what I mean!

I keep mine painted all the time, most of the time bright red. I don't take it off unless I know I am going to be barefoot (ie the beach). I have gone out to let the dog out and forget to put shoes on to cover it. One gg that I dated knew about it, and used to joke with me about it, but never wanted to see it. I bought a new dress last week, and once I get the chance to dress completely, they will be saphire blue. Oh, yea, they have been white as well to match my wedding dress. (Can't live the complete dream without owning a wedding dress). Here's the most recent pic with the toes being painted.

in the winter i always have my toes painted red or pink or even french tiped. it makes my feel so girly in the bath with nails and shaved legs. im sure someone in the house has noticed them by now but no one has said anything. every once in awhile while at my girlfriends house near cleveland (which is far from my home so i dont know anyone) i will venture out to the market with pink toes and flip flops. done that three times and i dont think anyone really took the time to notice. maybe next time ill do my fingersnails a nice shear pink and see how the cashier reacts.
i used to have a gf who knew and painted my toes often. it all started with a bet on the pool table. if you loose i get to paint your fingers and toes. a gee let me think ... ok. you guessed it i missed that dreaded nine ball. ;) . anyway she was very open when i told her i enjoyed it and we made it a regular thing. she even let my try on her panties one night when we were drunk but thats about as far as it ever went. i think if we were the same size it would have gone further but oh well.
i current gf isnt to open so i paint her toes as i tell her its a turn on cuz i like sexy feet but she has yet to recipricate as i had hoped.. i think next time im just gunna ask her.

Luv to look down at them when they are painted! They (my feet) are just ugly without it. I seem to chicken out though and will only leave it on for a couple days. I too have to change shoes at work and put on steel toes. Then I worry I'll get hurt and the ambulance while take off my shoes and socks in front of all the guys. CaroleCarole - nails do not breathe! Nails are dead cells. That is an old old myth....

As I mentioned yesterday, I had a light color applied when I got a pedicure yesterday. My Pilates instructor didn't seem to notice it until I commented it was very similar to her nail color. She said she thought it was cute and that toe nail polish is the trendy thing with guys up in San Francisco.

I adore polishing my fingernails and toenails whenever I have the chance. To me, there's nothing as feminine as sitting passively while your nails dry. As others have mentioned, I love seeing my painted toenails while I shower and love to dry my feet as I look at my nails. I usually use a red or pink but occasionally I like a deep dark color.

So far it has been a month now since I have gotten my long nails and no one except for my 16 yr old grand neice has said anything or noticed. Saturday I am going to the nail salon to get a fill and manicure. I am also getting a peticure ( my first), and going to ask the nail tech to put a light Pink nail polish on my toes and might even get my nails done in a light Pink. I don't think it will show that much and since I have stealth nails, hopefully the light Pink will also be not noticed. LOL
Anyway if anyone does asks, I'll just say "Oh the nail tech did it and I have not had the time to remove it, besides it's kinda nice"

PS - good tip regarding giving the nails a break from polish from time to timeNo! It is NOT a good tip! Did you not see my post #33?
Nails do not breathe, they do not need a break. This is an old myth - please! There is nothing wrong with having your nails polished for years on end, if it is done properly (base coat, proper nail maintainence, etc).

Hi
I must admit its months since I painted my nails or dressed, I have been getting edgy for some girly time and the wife has gone to the theater tonight so out came the red polish and box of undies.
I too have to be careful at work and feel the same way you do.
I am going to risk it tomorrow as I am off then for a few days and I will try to keep it on as long as possible. The wife also promised to paint my nails last time she had the polish out but when I said go on then she backed off so I didn't push the point.

My toenails have been painted metalic purple for almost 6 months now. I tried hot pink for one day, but light colors don't go well with my skin tone so I switched back to purple. I usually do my fingernails clear, but the brake cleaner I use at work strips it off in about half a second. I don't bother to hide my toenails. When my mom saw them all she said was "ooh, purple toes." Once a guy a work spotted them and asked "whats the deal with the purple toes?" I just wiggled my toes and said, "Oh you like that color" he replied, "that's just weird" and dropped the subject. Noone else has ever said anything.

I broke my ankle last year and was off work for 2 months. I painted my toenails as a joke, to get back at her for a comment she made about something else. I left them that way for 3 months, including a visit to the doctor. I did away with it for awhile but they have been painted again for the last 2 months and no one is wiser. She will see one day but, I didn't want to waste the nail polish I bought.

Hi
From the number of replies, it is easy to tell that CD'rs love their nail polish.
I've been dresing for about 8 years, and went out dressed for the first time a few weeks ago. Just decided I didn't care anymore what anyone else thought. I could never pass for a woman, I have a nice long white beard and loook a lot like Santa Claus. I was out and about all day and not a soul commented on my attire to me. Since then, I have wore nail polish on fingers and toes all the time. I've never had even one comment. not from the X-ray tech that took the X-rays of my feet. Not my long time doctor at my physical. not anyone I have met in public. Even my conservative 81 year old father in law didn't see fit to comment I was very suprised. People are much more interested in their own lifes than they are in mine or anyone else's. So I am not going to worry about any of it anymore. However, since my wife embarrasses easily I won't do it in public with her yet.
There may be a lot of us who are really in a position to do as we want. Try it. It has been fun for me.
And before anyone menstions it, No I am not afraid of being attacked any more than I am afraid of dying in a car wreck.
Happy Holidays everyone

Why don't you just leave your toes polished when in male mode and let everyone see that you have painted toenails? I have been doing this for the past 3 years and always have red toenails. Shaquille Oneal, Val Kilmer, Nick Nolte, Keith Urban and others also do this. I would never wear sandals without a good pedicure and red polish on my toes.

Removed the polish from my toes yesterday after having them polished for more than 2 weeks. They look naked.
I've been wearing polish on my toes what seems like forever. I redo my polish every Sunday. I'm from a pretty small town, so the only places I wear sandals or open toed shoes to is a small dress shop owned by a wonderful local seamtress and my hairdresser. Both ladies love my pretty red toenails.

Beautiful wife of mine is kinda professional detective Colombo type, she detects any "abnormal" situation.
One day after i have painted my toe nails, she asked me what was wrong with my feet, I said "euh...". She said that she find it strange not to see my naked feet. I always wear socks in the house, couldn't imagine she would knew, i was done now, i admitted that i painted the hidden nails the day before.
She will now happily participate in the execution of the polish removal.
Must leave now, the sound of the keystrokes...

I have lots of different colours of polish, and my wife is very fond of buying me satin/metallic colours. I tend to do both my fingers and feet Friday after work and see how long I can go before I have to remove it.
As for getting caught, here is my story:
About 5 years ago I was playing in a recreational baseball league. I had spent the summer with bright red toes, but the during the last weekend of the season I painted them black because my wife and I were going to dress up in some black pvc lingerie after my championship game. Well during the game, I hit the ball and began running the bases. As I rounded second and headed to third my foot slipped a little on the dirt and I felt a pop-pop in each leg. Before I knew it I was face down in the dirt and I was in extreme pain. Couldn't move either leg without white blasts of pain surging through my body.
Paramedics were called I was brought to the hospital with what turned out to be a torn hamstring in my left leg and a rupture in the quad muscle in my right leg. The funny part is due to overcrowding in the emergency ward I was placed on a gurney in a aomewhat busy corridor in the hospital. This is where the young female intern performed the examination on my legs and removed my socks to expose my black polished nails to the world. Luckily I had my supportive wife at my side by this time, and she said to the doc "doesn't he have cute toes, they match his uniform" and I think that kinda broke the awkwardness of the situation. Once the doc was finished I had my wife cover my feet again before any other family or teammates showed up. I was in too much pain at the time, but I look back on that and laugh now.

My nine year old daughter was there and didn't say anything. About two weeks later in the car with the whole family, she asked me why I had painted toe nails. I told her to ask her mom. My wife said, "sometimes mommy and daddy just want to fool around".

Hi all
Just reading my threads.
Its great to see how many get pleasure from a little nail polish.
I am beginning to miss mine, I have been paint free for ages.
My wife who I thought was getting Ok with things told me she thought I was doing too much so i have had to cool it.
I will be back soon, I realy feel the need to dress and a bit of red polish will cheer me up.
Keep on painting
Love Jayne.....
