View Full Version : New Way to Explain Crossdressing?

A new acquaintance asked me, "Am I supposed to use feminine or masculine pronouns to refer to you?"

It was a particularly decisive moment as a couple of other new female acquaintances were listening in as well.

"Female," I said, and then went on, "Think of me as Siamese twins, but instead of being conjoined at the hip, we're conjoined in the head. Sometimes we even argue with each other."

One of the women quickly said, "Who wins most often, the girl or the boy?"

"Girl," I said.

"Good!" she said, "then you're in!"

We all laughed, went off to play Mah Jongg, and I'm now "her."

I like your analogy. It gives the listener something familiar to hook their mind to while trying to assimilate a new situation. Cool beans.
Say, how'd you get so smart young lady? :D

I like the analogy too. There is so much compatibility in Siamese twins (the ones that survive), so much shared, and virtually nothing that could be called selfishness. They have a remarkable sense of self-expression. And I love it that the "girl" won.
You go, girl!

PS: lucky you to have supportive girlfriends!

To have all those folks running around in your mind?

I have all I can handle just dealing with the ONE consciousness in there!

For me I just respond as me, my male and my female personas are one and the same so if I am referred to as my male name when in femme mode or in my femme name when in male mode (both happen all the time) I still respond as one integrated individual.

That's an interesting observation,

I've lost 90% of the arguments I've had with gf's, so losing to the girl inside makes total sense. There is no glory in fighting with women.

good take on the issue. I don't even bother arguing with the girl inside because she always wins and pouts when she thinks she wont. lol

Great story.

Of course, I know that you just wanted to make us all jealous of your girly Mah-Jong group.

It worked :)

Is it confusing, Persephone?

To have all those folks running around in your mind?:eek

Not really, you find that you get used to them. And it gives you a number of different perspectives on things :)

When I can't agree with myself, I just accept a majority vote :heehee:

If that worked, then stay tuned! The entire week was unbelievable!

Oh, and by the way, I actually won one round of Mah Jongg too! :)

"Think of me as Siamese twins, but instead of being conjoined at the hip, we're conjoined in the head. Sometimes we even argue with each other."

This is an excellent way to describe the indescribable compulsion to crossdress – I’ve had parallel discussions (sometimes with myself) behind the scenes regarding this very subject. I’ve come to dismiss the idea of “two selves” entirely, preferring to appreciate this cojoining in the mind as a mystical gender-integration that few can fully understand. Exterior forces seek to separate the genders and keep them apart, while interior forces wish to bring them together for the good of the organism. This cojoining aspect in all of us has its parallel expression in art throughout the centuries, since it is a recurring theme of human nature. How did so many people get so out of touch with themselves? It’s lovely to be in touch with my cojoined twin – we are identical…:battingeyelashes:

Mahjong, eh? Living in Kansas, I know all about the Four Winds...:heehee:
