When I was a kid I was crazy about Marrianne Faithful. I wanted clothes and hair like hers. Marrianne is old and she still does concerts. A freind of mine saw her in New York like a few months ago and she was just fantastic. I was also just flying saucers daffy about Sandie Shaw but Sandie was more popular in England and her American hits were a bit far and in between and I forgot about Sandie for a few years. She surfaced again real big back around 1980 and I was very pleased to see that as a fan. I have a red.pink and purple wig styled after Sandie's Vidal Sassoon sixties job. I'm wearing it in my avatar but the picture is a little bit blurry. I also like Barbara Lewis and Ronnie Spector. I'm in the process of having a Ronnie Spector wig custom made but due to some complications it'll take me till January to get the order finished up.

Who is your GG idol?

My GG idol used to be my cousin – we were like young siblings surrounded by old people as we grew up, so we were kindred spirits of a sort. In many ways she was a female version of me, a perfect template to build upon. That youthful period faded into memory. Then, years ago, I met a young girl named Brenda, and I watched her grow up before my eyes – she’s now married, and recently she had her first child. Brenda replaced my cousin as #1 GG idol, and she still dominates my vision (and idea) of femininity. To this point, she’s the most beautiful young woman I’ve actually seen or known, tall like a model, conscious of her beauty but not obsessed by it. She’s very down-to-earth and somewhat artistic as well. I last saw her in 2007 when I visited Plymouth, MA -- she hugged me!:o

My ultimate GG idol is a combination of several women I’ve known in my lifetime. I would take my cousin’s unpolished earthiness and sexiness, combine it with Brenda’s beauty, and then add in the sweet personality of Brenda’s sister Rebecca (another beauty). To that mix I would fold in my art school girlfriend’s visual savvy and undeniable experience, along with my psychology professor girlfriend’s intelligence and feminine grace, and I’d have quite a woman!
