Hi,
I started cross-dressing when I was about 8 - I wore my sister's tights because I wanted to look like Robin Hood. The ^hobby^ has continued in phases throughout my life. I still do not know why I do it - but in order to try to understand I have looked at postings on this site. I wanted to know why other men wear women's clothing, when they started, what they wore first and who's clothing they wore.
Here is what I found - I hope that it helps you too!

A lot of work and a lot of reading, and surprisingly it has helped me a bit to understand my origins....I seem to fall into the area that most others do, starting at about 12 with my mother's clothes etc....so maybe I am not so unusual.....:)

Did you actually pore through this site while marking each post down, then tabulate the rests? That would be a lot of work! Kudos for your diligence! And yes, it is enlightening, thanks. :)
