As many of you know I've been out now at work as Kimberly for the last 1 1/2 month's. Well today had two vendors come to do work on site, one of them has not been to my office for close to 1 1/2 years, maybe longer. Since my name recently changed legally to Kimberly, he asked for Michael Kelly at the reception desk, I came to get him and introduced myself as Kim. On the way back to the telephone equipment room he asked where the other person that was previously here, a Michael Kelly was. I simply answered that I'm the same person, that I changed my name legally. The cool thing is he didn't recognize me, I looked completely different. But even cooler he didn't treat me any differently, he was respectful. His not recognizing me, was unexpected as I feel that I'm not that passable, it felt good..:):) Kimberly Marie Kelly :battingeyelashes:

Congradualtions Kelly, that's great news. And it's a good proof that you are settling into your new presentation, and feeling more relaxed and confident makes you look more relaxed and confident. And you will find that it happens more and more. I will be one year RLE on Jan. 26th Yay!

I almost feel like I've been 1 year myself as the last year I've worn pretty much only feminine pants, blouse's, makeup and jewelry. I just wasn't official with the company yet which happened when I changed my name on Nov 30th 09. But I do agree as time goes by I am changing and looking better, especially with the hormones working. But I've also become more comfortable with myself and being me is becoming the norm for me. It is a long but totally enjoyable journey and I don't want it to end.. Kimberly Marie Kelly :battingeyelashes:

That's awesome, Kim! :D
What I've realized is that we can get so hung up on any masculine features we have that we overlook the "big picture" that the rest of the world is seeing. It's great for our self-image when people like your vendor remind us that the big picture looks just fine.

Kimberly, that is so good to hear. I have the unique position that I get a lot of deliveries to the building and the delivery guys stop in to my office/shop for help or direction. The same thing has happened more than once and now don't even bat an eye.
