I was going to just leave a note in my journal...but I have too many friends here...GGs, FTM, CD, that would never see it...I want to share...

Marci Bowers called me Thursday to confirm. On October 15th 2010 I will go to sleep and wake up female. SRS.

That date will be a little over 2 years ago when I started dressing and taking pictures...when I joined the board a few months before that I was frightened of letting Julie out...of even leaving the house...thanks to all for helping my confidence and giving me a chance to live...it can be done...even by me...

Julie.

Now Iowa City to Trinidad Colorado is only 983 miles and a 14 hour drive...I'll be there at least 2 weeks...no matter what happens I expect a visit from the Iowa contingent...(you too Charlene...)...:D

Congrads!!!!!!!!!!!

Bowers is good. Pricey but good. Now you have a LONG LONG wait till it is over!!!!!!!!

Best advice. Be sure to have goals to achieve after SRS. It is helpful because without them ya have a good chance of post surgery blues.

Actually I'm grateful, they initially told me their lead time was over a year...and I am on the cancellation list...

Does finish dissertation, publish papers, complete clinical trials of our drug, and secure an assistant professorship count as goals? :heehee:

The time will go by quickly, I will be thinking about you all thru the year and especially in October 2010. I hope and pray that I can get things together and have the surgery done myself in the next 2 years. First I have to lose the weight that I have. I truly am envious of you. Again great news. Julie this calls for a celebration, but you sound to busy to even take time out to go to a nice dinner.

Thanks for the lead on Dr. Abloff. I spoke with him on the phone and he seems wonderful. Maybe I will chatting with you about Dr. Bowers in a year or two.

Big hugs, Suzanne

Congratulations.

Just remember to pack for anything here in October. Denver had 2 big snow storms this year before halloween. Years ago I was driving a U-Haul truck with a car trailor on it, I came over Raton Pass there at Trindad and ran into snow on Memorial Day.

Regardless of what weather you find here, you will finally achieve your dream. I hope it turns out to be everything you hoped for.

I *LOVE* that flag ... definitely will get one ....

oh, probably going to have to make it ... time to learn to sew ;)

Might help to invent one of the "transporter beams" before then toooo... I mean 983 miles isn't too bad, but it ain't short either ! BUT the path does go right thru Denver ( a great town ), near Boulder ( a really great town ) and skirts the whole Flat Iron Range ( at least it doesn't go OVER that group of rocks). All this adds up to . . .

ROAD TRIP !!

Being a train person I have to point out that the Southwest Chief run daily from Chicago to LA through Trinidad. I once found a youtube video of an Amtrak conductor that rode the train to Trinidad for her SRS. Of course since she worked for Amtrak the crew knew her and gave her a great send off.

I once drove through Trinidad. I should have stopped got some pics of the hospital and Dr. Bowers clinic.
