View Full Version : Girlie cars

I've just been sat in bed watching repeats of top gear as I have almost every morning since I was made redundant a few monthes ago and today they were in America driving 3 fantastic cars one of which was a new red corvette which I think would make a wonderful girlie car don't you?

Anyway I love cars and have owned some great girlie cars in the past but at the moment I own a GSI Astra and have done for a few years but I'm not quite sure how girlie it is compared with my old 306 GTI-6(Small French cars always seem girlie to me though)but I was wondering if others on this forum drive girlie cars?

BTW there are other questions on here about this but the last one I looked at was asking about 4 things(What car do you drive? what car would you drive? Is your car pink? and so on) and seemed for someone as thick as me slightly confussing.

Oh I'm thinking of changing my Astra for an Alpha Romeo

Now that's a girlie car right?

I drive a lifted truck. its not girly but I live Alaska, so there are a lot of girls who drive trucks like mine. I dont think its so much the car you drive but how the details are done. do you have a dolphin, flower or Roxy sticker in the back window. What do you have hanging from your rear view? a garter, surprisingly not girly. a crystal on a string, girly.

If I could get a girly car, it would be my same choice as a manly car. a BMW M3, but instead of black with a black interior. I'd want White with a tan interior. Id want shiny chrome rims for a girly car but light weight racing rims for the black car. I'd want them both lowered the guys car would have dark tint and the badges shaved the girls car. the trim would be gold and that Roxy sticker in the rear window.

Thats just my interpretation and me saying how its the details not necessarily the vehicle

Personally, I think Megan's right. Like so many things it's how you dress it up. With the proper paint job, accessories and attitude, you could make anything girly. This probably goes for all of us as well.

I used to have a girlie car but these days I drive a Harley Davidson Ultra Classic and a Dodge Ram 3500 dually REGULAR CAB.

I do not drive church trucks or girly stuff. The funny thing is the lesbians love both of my vehicles and the guys love them to. I often cant get fuel without someone comming up and saying crap like "damm girl you drive a cool truck or bike".

Being a girl can be wierd at times but needless to say I just do whatever I want and really dont give the whole girlie concept much thought.

Now when I was pre operative I was a lot more sensitive to being girlie but then an old joke comes to mind here.

Your sitting in a room with 30 trans people. Some are CD, some are TS pre-op, some are TS post-op. If you sit there and pay attention you can pick out the post-op girls. How?
The post opp girls look like crap. LOL. What I mean is they are more likely wearing jeans, t-shirts, no makeup, ect.

I have a black 2004 Mustang. I got it because I needed a car and it was the least expensive on the lot. According to my wife, Mustangs are girlie. That surprised me, because I know very few girls who have them.

I bought my wife a M-B 350 CLK convertible (black, tan interior) for her 40th birthday - Renee rarely gets to drive it but it is a great chic car!

'07 Mustang convertable (6 cylinder). There's a GG (blond) in town with same car, hers is a GT though. Also '10 F350 crew cab that I haul an 11' slide in camper on. Wifes car is '10 Fusion hybrid. I like them all and have driven all in both modes of dress. Especially love the Mustang with top down and the wind blowing my hair.

For this lady it would have to be a 1955 hard top T-Bird, baby blue, white top with porthole side windows, and all white interior. I have seen one when I was 15yrs old, a lifetime ago, but the image of that handcrafted sex on wheels has stuck with me for a long long time. Purrrrrrr kitty purrrrrrrr.

Yeah, '55 was a real classic. Vacuum wipers, AM tube type radio, 12mpg hwy., a V8 that always leaked and smoked and a rag top with a plastic rear window t hat yellowed and cracked after a few years. But, it WAS the origional and that was worth honoring with the retro look.

Hey Nina! I just had to reply here, I absolutely love cars & you mentioned Top Gear! heheheh!! We have BBC America in the states & I record all the Top Gear Episodes. Those guys are great, especially Jeremy Clarkson & Hammie ;) Capt' Slow is quite a character too, lol. Ok, so girlie cars... let's see. I've had a couple that can be considered girlie: Mazda Miata (although it was royal pearl blue) & currently a Mini S (although it's more macho with racing stripes, lol). Those 'could' be considered girly, although these are the cars that I consider at the top of the list (at least here in the US)...

1. VW Bettle (non-turbo S models)
2. Mini Cobriolet
3. Mustangs (non Shelby)
4. Miatas
5. VW Eos
6. Mercedes SL's (non AMG)
7. Z3's or Z4's (non M)
8. Lexus SC or RX
9. Rav 4
10. Dodge Neon

So, there's my top ten :D :heehee:

Mickey it was everything you said but the look was like pure sex rolling down the street and the color was so soft, like a new casmire sweater on a cold night. So soft but with a hint of what lay underneath. I have to say it was one of those rare moments when my Dad locked up the brakes just to get a better look. LOL He liked the car and I the look.

I have an original 73 VW Beetle 1303S, I know a lot of girls like them, but men do too, the one car I always think of definitely being girlie, is the little Peugeot 2 seater from the late 80s/ early 90s, like the one Sarah Jane in the Sarah Jane mysteries drives. I am probably the only one on this forum, who knows what the hell I,m talking about!

Yup, that counts as long as its the pre 2007 body style :P I've always thought the original body style of the liberty was pretty girly....I guess that explains why I like it so much :P

my cars (87 Mercedes 190e 2.3-16v and 87 VW GTI) are not girly. they are german and stiff and sporty. I wish i had a girlie car.

My top choice for a girlie car of my own would be an Aston Martin DBS Volante in a deep purple metallic paint with a white cream leather interior.

as for a list, all i have is one word: Convertible. no matter the vehicle, if its a convertible it immediately loses any masculinity.

something about a convertible that helps subdue the masculine and embrace the feminine.

i have been thinking on how to make my 1931 model a ford pick up fit my lifestyle!
i could do dolly parton driving it but with my 6 foot 2 height how big would my boobs have to be??
or may be bonnie and clyde?my truck would end up full of bullet holes and i would be a pretty corpse!
the grapes of wrath come to mind but how am i going to look pretty dead broke?
i guess there is no hope for anything girly or?

Maybe it is just me, but the word Romeo (Alpha Romeo) just made me think that this is a masculine car.

Alfa Romeo (pronounced "row-mayo") may sound masculine but they are some of the most beautiful cars in the world. low and curvaceous and just sexy as hell.

Alfas (not alpha), like Ferraris, are some of the least feminine cars I can think of. My 72 GTV was about the manliest thing around.

I don't own any cars but have both a girl & a boy's bike:

Personally, I think the older (80 and 90s) vintage VW cabriolets (convertable rabbits) were about the most femine looking cars, but that's just me.

I drive an STI now, which is the opposite of girly. It's actually kind of like four wheeled girl repellent.

My very first car was actually a Unimog- followed by a Land Rover forward control which is more or less the same car, just left in the dryer a bit long and shrunk some. My current car is a Sprinter 316 which is sort of an overinflated VW T5. I have owned an Alfa- GTV6 and a Sud- both cars that gave me the same thrill to drive as pulling on a slip; just as exciting and comfortable! What I'd really love is a Caterham-

that's a convertible in the purest sense but I've never seen a woman driving one- mainly middle aged geek/mechanics like myself. I guess I haven't owned a girly car.

This is my current car. It's a MINI Clubman, but the red brakes should give it away. It is a factory John Cooper Works model. 208hp, 0-60mph in 6.5sec and a top speed of 147mph should take it out of the Chick Car category. Previous cars have included a real sports car (1970 Lotus Elan +2S) and sports sedans (1975 Fiat 131, 1984 VW Quantum with Audi 5-cyl and a 1990 Nissan Maxima SE), but not an automatic in sight...

Practicality aside, I would probably choose a BMW M3 GTR or a Land Rover like Angelina Jolie's in Tomb Raider...

That's a beautiful Mini Flatlander. Looks like a chick car, but with those stats I dunno lol.

And...

With the SPORT button, it wants to haze the tires in the first 3 gears...

I look like a soccer mom driving around. I drive a 1998 Pontiac Montana 7 passenger.

Good to see so many cool American cars here.

Anyway heres a pic of the Alfa I like.

I think very girlie?

I was a bit bored today so decided to go to the near by Alfa garage and take a look at a Brera.

Have to say its not without problems like the back seats that are so close to the front seats no one with legs could use them and then I'm not tall but my head was touching the roof and the gear stick when in 5th gear gets in the way of the air con buttons! So not great and I've not even driven one yet!

I still like them though and they are very girlie in red

haha I believe it! My brother has the basic Mini trim with the stickshift and even that thing seems fast when you're whipping around turns. He showed me the Sport button and I thought that was the coolest thing how it immediately made the steering tighter.

Need one of those for my Jeep so it doesn't feel like I'm driving a tugboat...

Nissan girl here. Currently it's an Alpine white Altima Coupe, 3.5 V6, 270 HP. Prior to that, it was a black Maxima. I love these cars, great gas mileage if you drive it "right", great performance when you want it. The Coupe is electronically-limited to 130 mph (zero to 60? A little under 6 seconds). Trust me, I know. The Maxima? Well, it went a bit faster before the limiter kicked in, say around 147. Hey, ya got to find out, right? My lovely wife Jackie drives a big, red Ford F-150 4-door FX4 truck. She loves that beast and calls my ride a little "kid" car. :)

Well I drive a pretty Honda Fit, and I've been told by several people that I drive a "chick car".

I don't mind one little bit, I rather like the car.

the chick car comments must come from non-car guys. the fits are considered the reincarnation of the original civic. they're great little track day cars too.
