Since joining this forum, I have gained so much confidence in regards to going shopping. Prior to joining this forum I never dreamed, I would have the courage to walk into a clothing store, browse around, grab things to try on and ask the SA for a dressing room(by the way, I only shop in drab). I walked into Torrid, shortly after they opened, said hello to the SA, and began looking around. The SA was doing paperwork at the counter, she asked if she could help me find something. I told her I was shopping for something fun for myself, not pants as I wear them everyday. She said "let me show you a few of the newer items we have in." She took me over to a rack of dresses asked about my size, and proceed to pull out 6 dresses for me. She said let me get you into a dressing room, while I pick out some other things for you. I did not have a bra on so I asked her if I could have one. She grabbed one and asked, "would you like some shoes?" I said yes, she returned with a pair of 4 inch heels and a pair of boots. I spent the next hour trying on the dresses and other outfits as she brought them to me.

Other GG's came into the store and used fitting rooms next to and across from the one I was in. The SA asked me as well as them how they were doing, if we needed different sizes, etc? She treated me just like any other girl. It was a very enjoyable experience. After trying on what seemed like fifty items, I made my choices and exited the fitting room. As I went to the counter to pay, 2 GG's were also paying for their purchases. As I stood in line, the acted like a guy holding a skirt, blouse, dress and bra was the most natural thing. No funny looks or comments.

I paid the SA, thanked her for her help, got her name so I can email their headquarters to tell them of my experience. She told me I was welcome in her store at any time and that I am free to try on any thing I like, she may not feel that way after having to put away everything I tried on.

If any of you have reservations about going shopping, all I can say is DO IT. Others here have said that it's easy. IT'S TRUE!!! Be yourself, ask for help, be open that you are looking for things for yourself, ask if you can try things on. Enjoy the experience.

Jamie;
I do hope you E mailed the home office and gave that SA an
AT-A-Girl. She deserved one, and they are hard to get. Rader :)
