Monday of this week I met with my new/first endocrinologist for the first time, and had a spectacular appointment. She was a real sweetheart, and she actually has several of my friends as existing patients as-is. After meeting with her for an hour we realized we ended up chattering so much out of comfort that she forgot to ask a few questions by the end.. not that she really missed anything important.

ANYwho, as far as she was concerned, based on the letter from my therapist, everything was a go, and she was happy to have me as a new client!!! ***YAAY*** :D

I got my forms for the bloodwork, and the next day went to the local hospital and got poked proper. The conversation I had with the lab tech was kinda weird.. not every day you meet a heavily tattooed lab tech (who happened to have been inked almost entirely by the same guy to did all mine) who moonlights as both a PC/hardware/CAD-CAM programmer AND a RepoMan that owns his own business. Yeah.. Gentle as a kitten with the pokie too.. go figure.

Called the next day to inform the Endo of the lab work on the way and she just said great - you'll hear from us soon on the prescription stuffs! :dies:

Sooooo... that's that I suppose for getting the ball rolling in spectacular ways, though now I'm just waiting on the confirmation of the positive outcome on the bloodwork and then going back into the office to go over the use of, what I've been told was best, my new best friend Mr. disposable pokies... once a week or once every two weeks depending on my dosages (and/or in I can afford it) on top of the spiro in pill form. She basically told me that, if I had a choice and could tolerate & AFFORD it, that a shot a week would be in my best interests.. but I guess we'll see. She was very friendly with all the perspectives.. if I didn't like the pokie, then I could go with a pill - with the varied understandings of effects and so on.

:jump:

(Last thought though - as a consideration to my SO, while everything is thoroughly lining up to be in good order, I may take my scripts and set them aside for a few weeks immediately upon receipt. Her and I have busy lives, and she's going through some crazy rough patches with her health. We'll likely work through all that, stabilize, and then.. 3.2.1.... OW!! )

Here's to joining the crowd! :ch: :drink:

Well as a long time lab tech I can tell you that the guys who draw blood don't make a ton of money. so I can understand the side business bit. I wrun test at night so I'm rolling in cash. lol
I'm glad you had a good experience.

Great news, great post, and congrats!

Your ins might cover the IM if it's listed under "endocrine- other," or some such thing. That's how our uni gets around the coverage issue, anyway. Best of luck on the lab results, should be fine!

Welcome to the jungle. Now you get to look forward to the day you stop them! LOL Yes well if you are going to get SRS all doctors I know make you stop them for a period of time prior to SRS. I can tell you it is the absolute worse part of SRS and for a period of time I wanted to crawl in a hole and put up a "do not disturd sign" I was a wreck!!!
