Someone recently sent me an email in which they asked me to email them a copy of my CV. I got to thinking what I should put in the "interests" section at the bottom to declare that I'm a CD. Suggestions? :)

What type of job are you applying for, Alice?
Only if listing crossdressing as a hobby will assist you in procuring the position, should you list it, IMHO.

It's not for a job. I'm self employed and not planning on changing jobs. ;)

I'm hoping to get involved in influencing policy development in a political party, but only in a specialised area that doesn't relate to gender, etc.

It's more of a generic question. I'm trying to think of an obscure way of saying it so that people have to actually think about it. :)

yes I'm familiar with this. Something to do with a little bit of internal honesty.

I got an invitation to join Friends Reunited a few years ago from some guy I went to school with (Bournemouth School for Boys), and in the description bit put '2 kids, three pianos, curious wardrobe.' Hardly significant for a site I visit about twice a year. Word got round via another route as to how I'm living these days, and I apparently showed up in an old photograph in a recent edition of the old boys mag with a caption which read something like: 'one's a barrister, one's a lecturer, one's a transvestite'. Kind of amused me that the transgendered side of things was more noteworthy than my career achievements, modest as they are. But then I guess that's why I don't have much affection for the alma mater. Following this, I put a photo of myself up, in a cute little black number.

If you start making these kinds of oblique references to yourself, you're probably on the road to spelling it out in full. Fun though.

Unless I was seriously considdering transition to female 24/7, then I'd steer well clear.
All the employer has to do is say
"There were better candidates on the day"
I like breaking the speed limit, but you dont put that on a CV either.
Not that CDing is illegal, but different circles will judge everything differently. CDing included.

Although that's not your policy area, you could always list "Gender issues" amongst your interests.

How about love cding and music.
That will get them thinking and if you change your mind you can always say you like listening to cd's and music! They won't know you mean us lol! :)

Funny, I had to look up what a Curriculum Vitae was. We call it a rèsumè here.

This is the best suggestion yet!

Even though I will never be full time, I have every intention of eventually being completely out, as was my friend Pip (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Wherrett), who passed away last year. I have discussed this with my wife, and the only area of concern is minimising any impact that it could have at school for our 6yo son.

So yes, I am on the road to spelling it out in full.

I already list "Middle Eastern Dancing" as a fitness activity. I should have added yoga by now but only just realised that it's still not on there.

Right now, I'm considering adding "acting, costuming, gender studies." :battingeyelashes:

Thank you for that Carroll...:heehee:

I just had to look into the thread...to see what that meant.

I think if you want to list it as an interest, and it is not going to negatively impact what you are trying to achieve...then i agree with Rianna....list it as interest in gender issues....that will make them think, but also in a serious, and hopefully positive way as opposed to a hobby or fetish.

Alice, I'd say that works. It's oblique enough to hint to it, without being too cryptic.
