I find a great way to get in touch with my femine side is my doll collection. Of course, I have always loved to play with dolls dressing them up in different outfits. What girl hasn't wished that she could have the clothes collection that Barbie has.:daydreaming: Any how, I was wondering if any one else has a doll collection? Here I am with one of my favorites - Dorthy by Madame Alexander.

Brids fly over the Rainbow...why oh why can't I?

When my daughter started getting into Barbies--thanks to my wife--I loved playing with them with her. I had my favorites (all brunettes, mostly), and favorite outfits.

My daughter doesn't play with them so much any more, and I think I was showing too much interest in them because my wife commented on it (not in a good way). That was before I came out to her. Were I to pick up the Barbies and start dressing them now, you'd be able to hear my wife tearing me a new one from where you are. :)

But if my daughter needs help getting an outfit on or off one of her dolls, I'm always there to help. :)

When Barbi first arrived, I recall my mom sewing up many Barbi outfits for my girl cousins and neighbors. I actually have very fond memories of dressing up Barbi dolls at my next-door neighbors house (she had the dolls, not me). Neither of our mom's seemed to see anything unusual about this.

We also played her "Barbi, Queen of the Prom" game. My date was Poindexter.

Char - why so glum? How about another one where the pic shows the fun you are having? ;)

My collection is Lladro porceline figurines. The women are always depicted in such a feminine way.

I never did have a doll collection but neither did I ever have an "action figure" collection either. I guess I never really thought about it one way or another. The childhood years of my daughters included a lot of dolls, including Barbie, but I never spent time dressing or undressing any of them. I have attended some tea parties and enjoyed some EZ Bake productions with the little girls.

no, but for some strange reason I like to build doll houses from time to time, the nieces keep stealing them though!

Oh my gosh, you have a Madame Alexander! And it is Dorothy! That is great! I love Madame Alexanders, but while I've seen a number in the hands of other collectors, I don't have any of my own . . . yet.

I do have a small collection of Barbie®'s. My fave is a Gone With The Wind® Barbie.

France recently issued a set of doll stamps and I got 2 blocks of those. I gave one to another collector who is a member of my congregation's ladies auxillary. She has an awesome Madame Alexander collection.

I don't have any dolls but some of my favorite moments in life have been Barbie shopping with my daughters and the "belly time" spent with them laying on the floor moving our Barbies through their fabulous minature world.

I had dolls as a kid and loved playing with them.

Smile, Char! I’ll lend you my beautiful red shoes…:battingeyelashes:
Fantastic! I have a doll collection of sorts in the form of pictures – lots of fashion magazines, pictures from the Internet, and my own photographs of models (mainly female) dressing up for the sake of being photographed. I’ve been doing this as long as I can remember. One day, when I was a boy, I suddenly became fascinated and obsessed with all things female. I began to collect pictures, and then I began to make my own. This led me to art school, where I nourished my visual desires and made a career out of it. I always keep my images nearby – I especially love looking at figurative works, albeit two-dimensional ones as opposed to three-dimensional types (like dolls).

LOS ANGELES (Reuters Life!) – Hard-working Barbie is adding two more careers to her long resume -- news anchor and computer engineer.

The two new ventures for the world's most popular fashion doll were chosen by for the first time by the public, who cast more than 500,000 votes to select Barbie's 125th and 126th careers, toymaker Mattel said on Friday.

The popular vote went to Computer Engineer Barbie, who will be launched in the fall of 2010 looking "geek chic" in a binary code-patterned T-shirt, pink-framed glasses, a pink laptop and a Bluetooth earpiece.

Girls however threw their votes behind News Anchor Barbie, who will also go on sale in late 2010 wearing a pink suit and carrying a news folder, camera and microphone.

Computer Engineer Barbie was designed with the help of the Society of Women Engineers, who hope she will inspire young women to enter the profession.

I'm a GG so I'm not sure if it counts, but I collect dolls.

I collect Asian Ball Joint Dolls (Like SuperDollfie), Pinky Street and Momiji dolls as well as other toys.

I think the most amusing thing about my first date with my boyfriend is I was sitting there thinking "Oh god he's gonna think I'm nuts when he sees all my dolls, how will I tell him?" and he was there thinking "Uhoh, I better tell her I'm a CDer sharpish if this is going to become anything of worth."
In the end I was so relived because his "secret" topped mine.

Sadly Ball Joint dolls are expensive and so many people say they are a waste of money, but they make me so happy. They inspire me when I get creative block.

This is one of my dolls here (http://img254.imageshack.us/img254/1943/meloramusesmall.jpg) She is called Melora and is a Super Dollfie Cute.
