Our local bank always puts up these cutesie little sayings on their sign. I am not sure of the origin of this saying, but I have heard it many times during my life.
1. You rebel against the man.
2. You work for the man.
3. You become the man.
Obviously we can't stop there. Being who we are we must put a unique transgendered spin on it. Here is my humble and somewhat feeble attempt:
4. You finally realize that no matter how hard you try you don't want to be the man so you become the woman. :D
I know it doesn't fit the situation for all of us, but its describes the boat this girl is in a this moment fairly well. Feel free to come up with your own line #4 or add a #5 if you would like.

I would rather turn the entire thing around, such as
1 - you rebel against the woman inside you
2 - you discover the woman inside you
3 - you live in peace with the woman inside you

Precisely, Sonia. To add to that,
#4 You venture out into the world as the woman inside you
#5 The world accepts you as you are
#6 All is well
Great thread, Suzanne!

:D
4. The woman inside you lives in peace with the man inside you.
5. You realize that if you have a woman inside you, and a man inside you, that 'you' must refer to something that neither and both man n/or woman.
6. You accept your 'non-gendered' self as your higher form, and work upwards from there to higher spirituality and service towards others.
7. You then wonder what to wear on a given occasion. :D

How about turning it into a sort of haiku:
Rebel against the man,
Work for the man, find yourself,
Become the woman.

5-- To be the man you must first walk like a woman.

Actually, this is a simple (yet very effective) way to describe many of us who perhaps lean towards the ts side of things, who have lived life the way we thought we needed to thinking the woman would just fade away.

I reluctantly, grudgingly, grumblingly agree with Sara - I think. I don't feel like I'm at a crossroads. I don't feel an aching need to transition. I don't feel I need to be anything else than what I am now. And yet, . . .

Great suggestions ladies. I am heading down to the bank tomorrow morning and insist they update their sign! LOL not really but the #1 inside of me thinks it would be fun.

5-- To be the man you must first walk like a woman. In killer heels too....:heehee:
I think I failed step #3. :heehee: Don't feel bad. I think I made that step, but it sure isn't what all the other "da man's" said it would be.

What’s a lovely girl like you doing in a “manly” bank like this? Is is too late for my "deposit?"
1 – You rebel against the man (as you were born).
2 – You work for the man, and become increasingly uncomfortable…
3 – They expect you to become the man, but you just won’t do it…
4 – You turn yourself inside-out and become comfortable with yourself.
5 – You’re now together, happy within and showing it on the outside.
6 – You come here…:heehee:

You are perfect the way you are! Don't try to fix perfection! Thanks, sis! In answer, I have to quote Stitch's signature, "I'm not perfect, but parts of me are pretty awesome!"

Well I didn't think it would fade away, I just cut off that limb from my decision tree as an impossible dream. Then it grew back.
I reluctantly, grudgingly, grumblingly agree with Sara - I think. I don't feel like I'm at a crossroads. I don't feel an aching need to transition. I don't feel I need to be anything else than what I am now. And yet, . . .
And yet......and yet. Yes I know about the "and yet". There's a piece of you that wonders, that perhaps dreams the unspoken dream...is it possible...could it happen....I wish it could...but it cant, can it?
And don't I sound all "Go Team Transition" cheerleadery right now.

I really like Sonia's version. It says so much about what many of us -- certainly myself -- have / are going through. How (rather if ...) we reach #3 is a challenge and goal for us. Really too good for a commercial bank sign....
