View Full Version : How Many Dye Their Natural Hair?

I have been dying my manly hair for about six years now. I am a natural light brown, but i have gone from platinum blonde through to dark reds over the years. Never done black though for some reason!

Last night, i dyed my hair bright red, as in FLAMING RED! Probably a little too strong for my complexion, but too late to do anything about it now!

One thing i have noticed is that some colours look better on longer hair than shorter hair, so i'm currently trying to grow my hair longer (with a bald patch) as i'm hoping to see if my theory is true about suitability of colours on different hair lengths.

So does anyone else dye their natural hair in obviously femme colours?

Hi Christine. Been dying my hair blonde ever since the grey started showing. Cut short and a little spikey on top. Looks great when I wore a dark burgandy lipstick (I must buy some more.) XO Arula.

I'm naturally a dark blonde and never been fond of that color -- seems mousy to me. My hairdresser persuaded me to get highlights this spring and I haven't looked back. Not obviously femme, but definitely looks nicer.

I've done everything from platinum blonde to black over the past ten years. Even had nuclear red stripes in my hair for my trip to Toronto four years ago. Done purple and sea green too. But mostly black these days.

Oh, my natural hair colour is a dark brown with natural auburn highlights.

I've been dying my hair on and off for years, ever since the gray took seige of my head at age thirty or so. I had always had it colored the same as my previously natural medium brown (Clairol 6A), but dumb me, who doesn't look to see if the right box is in the right slot in the store, am now blacktopped. It's growing on me, though, so maybe I'll stick with it for awhile.

Darla, your hair looks distinctly reddish in the avatar!

Are you sure you just have a few highlights?

Just curious is all!

I started going grey in my late 20's and have been dyeing my hair for almost thirty years! (no I can't believe it either!)
I must have tried every product available on the market with some horrendous results!
Whoever invented woolhats god bless you!
