Last night my wife and I were in bed talking about my C/D. She stated that if they made sexy mens underwear I most likely would not wear female underwear and clothing. I have seen many sites on the web with mens underwear that I might call provocative and romantic. The truth is I just don't have the same attraction to the male clothing as I do to the female clothing.

I think she is just trying to justify me dressing in her mind. What do you think?

I don't think your wife quite gets what crossdressing is.

The sexy male underwear in all it's glory will never be the same as the women's lingerie in a victoria's secret catalog. Just my humble opinion.

Yeah, I don't think she really understands what it's all about. You probably need to discuss it further with her, really try to explain what it is about female clothing (or being female) that attracts you.

Maybe she meant that if they made men's clothing to look like women's then we crossdressers would just as soon wear men's clothes. But even if that were true, try getting non-transgendered men to go for it.

Oh Great you got me talking on a "Underwear" Thread, UUUGGGHHHH!!!!

My wife and I also tried searching for "better" undies for me at first. There is not much out there and from what we did find was almost worst. I dont understand why they think that men want underwear made from a burlap bag? It seems like most mens underwear claims that it is soft but I have found a pair yet.

Well, IMHO if it is clothing designed for men, no matter how soft and sexy it is, I am not interested in it. To me, the whole point of my dressing is to wear clothing intended for woman. Why in the world would I want to wear a skirt and blouse, stockings and heels not to mention makeup and at the same time wear men's underwear???

I agree with Nicole, how pleasant the feel of womens clothing next to my breasts.

I used to get sexy mens underwear all the time from my wife, they just are not the same. Even wearing womans jeans is better than mens jeans. I have no mens underware any longer so she knows now what is in my mind.

I think your right. My wife tried the same thingm buying me a pair of satin boxers, and even silk mens PJ's. She sort of missed the point that I liked many things BECAUSE they were womens garments, not just for the materials they were made out of.

My wife too keeps recommending some kind of silky men's underwear instead of panties. She really doesn't like my femme jeans, even though they are very plain levis, so she suggested looking for similar styled men's. She hasn't really internalized what the point of my dressing is.

Maybe she is trying to justify it, I don't know .... but unfortunately (and I think this is true for a lot of SOs who first find out about it) it shows she doesn't really "get" what it is to be a CDer for most people. Sexy men's underwear is missing the point ... as you know, it's about the clothes being specifically designed for women but we are the ones wearing them.

My wife did the same thing , they just sat and collected dust. In guy mode In have to be comfortable with the boys, you know have them where they are suppose to be..

So yeah same material same concept , different mode just wasn't the same.

It definately sounds like your wife is trying to "justify" your dressing, and maybe, in fact, if you like the "silky" boxers, then I can compromise with that, because they don't look like the panties that you are wearing right now. I too went thru this phase, but very very little with my wife as well, until she realized that I wore my underwear because it was part of the package, and it went underneath my dresses....

Most of us wear womens clothing because it is women's clothing. Some men's clothing can be appealing but it is just not the same.

My wife briefly went through this stage after I first told her. Because one of the reasons I told her I dressed was because women's clothing felt nicer. Fortunately, she only bought me a pair of men's satin PJ's of which I only wear the bottoms. She still doesn't like my dressing but, at least, she quickly abandoned the silky men's things thinking.

Has she found you a male bra yet, they got to be sexy

Do panties and bras from xdress and skirts/blouses from crossdresser count as men stuff since they are made to fit the male form?

I agree wholeheartedly that the marketers have missed it big time with the concept of sexy underwear for men. It seems more a novelty item than an attempt at sexy even looked at from the perspective of a man who wasn't a cross dresser.

The dress I have on I bought because I liked the dress as opposed to it simply being a woman's dress. When the manufacturers get on board and start producing dresses that show up in the mens section at walmart for the same price as what shows up in the womens section I will happily buy those too.

Does your wife go to TG sites to educate herself? There are so many threads here from CDs who justify wearing the clothes because they are so much more comfortable, softer, silkier, prettier, more colorful, more stylish, etc. than men's clothes. Maybe your wife reads these things and believes them?

So maybe your wife is trying to determine if your CDing is truly just about the clothes or if it goes deeper, if you do identify as female.

Edit
Here's an example of men's briefs that has all the desirable qualities
http://www.amazon.com/SUMMER-Bikini-Swimwear-Underwear-Purple/dp/B002DI17JU

It was hard finding examples I can post because of our no crotch shot rules, but if you google sexy men's bikini briefs, you'll see many more examples. There are also beautiful men's silky shirts, slacks, soft angora or cashmere sweaters, etc, for the CDs who just prefer the finer fabrics of women's clothing and who do not partially identify as women.

I kept the silkie PJs (she bought me) to wear when compaany is present. Actually I think the PJs are womens too. A male guest at my home will not know the difference. If in the hospital I insist on wearing the backless gown. Just think last week a woman was wearing that gown. I think???
I have white lab coats to work in...a couple have the buttons on the wrong side.....they are my favs. A famous fish place in Boston says "If it ain't fresh...it ain't Legal"
Same goes for PJs. "If it ain't womens...It ain't getting worn"

To my wife I said , " cotton panties I won't touch them ".. Yes material is one of my preferances, laced trim and cut are also.

I have yet seen a pair of mens underware to fit that desciption yes they now offer laced trim and nylon in mens but not the cut. Don't get me wrong tho,if I was in the Garden Of Eden I would prefer a fig leave like Eve's . If I was on the praire 300 years ago I would prefer my buck skinned underware as panties .. But I would have been a hunter not a gatherer, so buck skinned boxers while I suppoerted my family and only wear my buck skinned panties in the teepee in private.

I HAVE CONVINCED MY WIFE THAT IT JUST FEELS GOOD!

She can see that I am much more relaxed and happy. When daddy is happy...everybody is happy!

I routinely remind her by holding my 42 Ds and saying, "I love my girls"

Oh, by the way........I have slept on the couch for the last 3 nights......go figure?

Actually she has a bad cold and it is my choice.

I love my little sweet wife! I have to say I am one of the luckiest CDs on Planet Earth!!

Personally i find all of men's fashion to be completely boring. Not just clothes but shoes hair all of it. I guess that's just my Feminine side coming out hee hee. So while silk pj and underwear are a nice step its nothing like a pair of super cute panties and bra i have on right now.

For me its the fact that they where intended to be for a woman. I actually tried to purchase a couple pair of mens panties as they where called and yes they look pretty but they just DO NOT COMPETE with the real thing. Hence they are in the back of my panty drawer.

I wish I could explain it to myself better so I could let my wife in on my thinking better. but its like the mystery of the tootsie roll sucker. One may never know how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop. :):)

I honestly don't feel the same wearing any male garment...under or outerwear.

Right! I can't stand button down shirts... ties... this even goes to polo shirts etc. Can't stand them; pretty much all my male clothes are androgynous and have been since I was able to choose my own.

I own a pair of silk boxers that my wife bought for me, but they just feel all wrong.

My first impression is that she doesn't get it. My second impression is that it really is not fair that "we" should expect understanding very often. I guess for people to just leave us alone and let us "do our thing" would be acceptable, but to fully understand what I do, means that you do it too.

Just my opinion, gigi:<3:

I would agree that she isn't understanding the whole picture. My wife did the same. Then I started to educate her from different web sites that I found. It is a slow process. Then we went shopping together and she bought home a few things for me over a time and thought it would end there. She has never seen me dressed. Yet:)
