I understand that HRT greatly increases the size of one's breasts, but was wondering if it can also increase the size of one's hips ? I thought I may have read that somewhere, but am probably mistaken....

Michelle,
HRT can redistribute fat to different parts of the body such as breasts and hips but the male body is what it is so the waist will not change and frame will not change. Being reasonable in one's expectations will not disappoint as much as unrealistic desires.

I have seen a significant increase in thighs, hips, and butt...much fuller and rounder...and softer...skirts that would just fall to the floor on me now hang just right...and I haven't gained any weight since starting HRT a year ago...

Here is a good close up shot of me...you can see the normal thin long male torso...but the hips and thighs are filling out...

:iagree:

just to add a bit ... when you say "greatly increase..." I hope you know that the amount of that increase in breast size varies a LOT. It depends on genetics and age and a bunch of things they aren't sure of. The important thing to remember, be careful of reading too many reports of big increases, more than likely you might see and increase to an A or maybe B cup size. Larger? Only if young and lucky.

As for hips, McDonald's will get you there much more quickly, but at a slightly higher price !

A much higher price, all right! not only in the pocketbook but also in the health department, if you depend on McDonald's

After five months I have had a 2" increase in my bust measurement and a 1" increase in my hips. Upper chest, ribcage and waist have stayed the same as has my weight. Jeans I have had since before starting HRT still fit great at the waist but it is taking a little more work to get them there!

Wow you're lucky. I started at the same time as you and although my breasts are starting to fill out (I'm now 1 inch from a 'b' cup) - my hips have not changed.

I think WHEN you start makes a lot of difference as well as genetics. I was 21 and had been on a med for my kidneys that was also a t-blocker for 7 years. Feminization was fast and furious to borrow the movie title. Although only on hormones for approximately a year and a half, I continued the med/t-blocker for another year+ which allowed for no blockage of the remaining hormones. Yes I watched what I ate (any good girl would right?) but by the time I was taken off the kidney med I was a 32c (ok maybe a b+) with 27" waist and 33" hips. (mom and sister are DD and D cups respectively)
I just wish I looked like that now!!

Usually Michelle the breast growth is far from "great"...and its totally different for everyone..

also we have broader chests which means that our breasts are more likely to go out at an angle..and they need to be bigger to look right...a b cup on a my broad chest just doesnt look right..

altho our hips get more fat...most girls i've met say that they barely changed there prior to srs...so julie look out!!! you are gonna be a hippy chic!

No remarkable changes here either. I started HRT almost 15 months ago and the changes have been very subtle at best. At all my visits to the endo, my blood work indicated that my T-level was at the lowest value of the range, but my E-level has never been high enough.

He has kept increasing the patch size and eventually added more patches, but I don't see any major results. I am seeing him again in April, but I have a feeling, it is not working as it should.

So, evidently, YMMV with hormones!

Great info from previous posts! Remember that guys not only have a wider shoulder frame, but also with their extra rib, it gives a longer torso. Naturally increased breasts are also a matter of DNA, but we know those can be made larger/smaller with special help. Doing "girl" exercises to tone your body, and not build muscle may achieve somewhat of a "curvy" figure, but that takes alot of effort and time. For the most part, GGs also try to add or subtract to their figure to get the desired results. Imo, no matter where we are on the gender scale, we should be comfortable and content in who we are.

Actually I have some tie dyed tops...If you all must see. Without going into detail my physician thinks the type of hormones you use makes a big difference. I wanted the patch initially but she convinced me as long as my health held out to go with Premarin (high dose) The idea is you are getting conjugated or many forms of Estrogen. Things are moving fast especially recently...

I'm not as wide as most men, or as heavy built, my B's look good but my D forms look even better.

As the girls have already stated, results will vary, some have good results, some maybe not so great..
Umm, I'd have to say Julie is the exception to the rule here as far as hips go, and that's quite remarkable!! So I say you go girl!!!!

But as for the rest of us that are older, it takes years for that area to get any noticeable fatty tissue to settle into the butt & hips..
It took me about 4 years for my hips to finally fill in really well.
and part of that is from me sitting here typing replies like this one....lol
And the other side effect was getting Thunder Thighs to boot......oh well, gotta take the good with the bad.......lol

Breast growth for the MTF is purely all genetics, nothing more..the Hrt only gives you the possible potential of reaching a size smaller than what you would of had if you were born a GG...But that's if your lucky.....
My Sister(GG), never got past an A cup, even though our mother was a full D cup...so that shows you that one never knows what you'll get...
If you need any guaranties, then make arrangements with a plastic surgeon, because thats the only way one can achieve the size of any particular preferences, or you just take what Mother nature can give you & be happy with that..

:iagree:It's about time for my been on HRT for over three years and coming up soon on one year being post-op, May 2nd. Wish things could progress quicker but still I'm happy with the changes no matter how slow they seem to take.
