I hit several "firsts" today--first time meeting another crossdresser face-to-face, first time shopping WITH someone (as opposed to FOR someone...i.e. my wife), first time conversing about clothes in person with another human soul (not counting my therapist).

...all wrapped up in the one person! Hi Kim! :)

Kim came down to Cambridge (MA, USA) with her wife and kids, left them to tool around the museum while she and I went to The Garment District in Cambridge. We each picked up a skirt--mine is SO much shorter than hers...and I'm NOT a tart, she's just a prude. :tongueout <==to Kimi

We had such a great time! I hope we'll get a chance to do it again!

AND tomorrow night I'm finally going to my first SISTERS of Boston meeting. I'll be in drab (because logistically I'm just not prepared yet to go dressed...too many pieces still missing, like makeup), but I'm SO looking forward to finally meeting my wonderful Sisters!!

So a lot of milestones this week. I'm amazingly grateful to God for making it all happen! And to you, my incredibly supporting on-line family! Your encouragement and support got me though to this point. THANK YOU ALL!!

That's wonderful Dianna! I'm so proud of you. :bighug: I can only imagine how wonderful it must be to meet another member of this big family.

And not only that, but to be going to your first SISTERS meeting in the same week :GD: You must let us know how you get on!

Even if Kim were right (and I'm staying out of that one),it would only make you The Tart With a Heart :heehee:

Good for you, Dianna, and a good on ya' to Kim for being your wingwoman!

About the makeup and all of the other pieces, don't worry. You'll get there.

Dianna -- Congratulations. By the time you get done with your meeting, you will have done two things this week that I haven't.

That's wonderful Diana. It certainly is a good way to start getting your nerves settled about things. My first meeting with "one of us" was with Kathi. And it was my first time shopping with someone (she did most of that though), and my first time admitting to an SA who I was (got a foundation match), and my first time dining with "one of us". It really settled my nerves and set my expectations and comfort level well.

I hope you enjoy your meeting with the Sisters (and I am jealous)!

Well, things didn't go as planned for the meeting, unfortunately.

Three hours after I posted this, our power went out. High, HIGH winds knocked New England into a cocked hat Thursday night. I wasn't expecting this...neither, apparently, were most people.

So we moved into crisis mode, which means getting the generator out and hooked up, buying gas and water and canned/boxed foods, establishing "safe" places in the event of emergency (my brother-in-law has gas heat and stovetop, for example). It also means staying home, because my wife (to some degree) and my daughter (to a far larger degree) both need daddy home when the house is dark and cold. My wife doesn't know how to run the generator, my daughter needs stability during a crisis. It MIGHT not have been as bad if my son had been home (both wife and daughter rely on him also for stability), but he's at a friend's house three hours away for a few days.

So, I stayed home to be there for them.

I don't regret choosing them over my Sisters, of course, I was hugely disappointed, because I was really, REALLY looking forward to going out and meeting my Sisters Family. It was to be a stepping stone for me between never having gone out before , and my first time "out" (planned for three weeks from last Friday). Last Friday was to establish a baseline comfort level, to get to meet members of my local TG/CD family--several of whom in I particularly wanted to meet, one of whom won't be there until the 19th--and try to figure out how to plan to get "out", since I won't be able to get dressed or put on makeup in the house and I don't have anywhere else to do it, except my car.

But, I talked it over with my wife (yeah, let's use that word, "talked"), and she agreed to let me go next Friday as well as on the 19th, so I'm looking forward to that now. After that, the boundary line is once a month out. Less than I want, but more than she can deal with for now, so a sort of compromise. Keep your fingers crossed that she soon agrees to at least twice a month, because that's what I think I'm going to need.

And pray that the weather and other "life" circumstances don't further prevent me from meeting my wonderful Sisters! :)
