Wednesday March 3, is my last day before retiring from the post office. My postmaster and supervisors think I should spend my last day working as Heather. Is that cool or what? Might as well retire in a blaze of glory! Heather

When you ask a bunch of crossdressers if you should wear a skirt you should know what the answer will be.
Congratulations on retirement, set the alarm a little early n Wednesday so you have time to get your makeup absolutely perfect.

actually girl, you might want to make sure they CAN'T fire you on the last day for dress code violations etc....might screw up your retirement!

As a government employee being in an inappropriate uniform, they could force you to take an early retirement, but then on your last day, leaving early could be nice!

Heather - congratulations on your retirement. If you are comfortable being around your co-workers en femme, then it sounds like you've been given an opportunity to make an already special day one that will be truely memorable. Regardless of your choice, enjoy the moment, enjoy the day, best wishes for a long and happy retirement.

Actually, I've dressed for the last four Halloweens. I have a regulation Postal skirt so I'm in uniform. Heels might be a little risky. I'm really looking forward to going out in a blaze of glory!

Great news Heather, you made it! I am so happy for you. Sounds like you are going to have a fun last couple days.
I am in one of those weird situations at my job. I will have 31 years in May, so I was eligible last year to retire, but being only 52, I am along way from social security. My pension will peak in 2012, but will still be only 54. So still 8 years from 62. My 401k took a beating last year. So do I retire when my pension peaks, but no ss and a beaten 401k or do I let my pension start it's drop after 2012 and hope my 401k rebounds and climbs. I can't see myself doing my job until 62, very physical job.
HAPPY RETIREMENT! We will expect to see more of you here now!
:hugs:

Retirement? That is one of those "fuzzy" areas when you are self-employed. Kind of like the concept of a "long term" relationship. I've never been clear on how long you have to be in either one before you start using the terms to describe yourself, lol.
I suppose you have to work to relate to retirement. Not sure I've really done that after I turned 40. Not sure about the long-term relationship thing either. I know I have been in quite a few terminal relationships.
Congratulations! Now you get to see if your retirement plan you have formulated earlier is a good one or not, eh? Hopefully, you included a wardrobe calculation in your retirement plan.:D
Does AARP offer any discounts for seniors at Victoria's Secret or Frederick's? Hey, that means that somewhere there is a job opening up for one of the unemployed victims of the recession. Oops, I mean past recession, since we are all suppose to pretend it is over...

Don't do it! This is just a ploy by your supervisors to ruin your retirement. You do it on your "last" day and they ask, "Wasn't that nice? Wouldn't you like to do it again tomorrow?" Then after that, they start all over until years later you are finally too frail to work and you must quit your femme job delivering mail. Will you enjoy your free time dressing then?
BTW, congratulations from a semi-retired girl.
