Hi!

I have a chance to get a makeover on the 26th of March and then go out in DC or Northern VA. Does anyone have any suggestions for a place to go by myself where I could have my first experience out en femme. I think I would feel really out of place in a gay club and I am not sure how well I will pass. I would like a place where people are out for a good time, dancing, etc.

I plan on wearing a nice knee length leather skirt, a black leather jacket a black leotard over my corset and a pair of black leather knee boots from Nine West. I just got a really nice wig so I think I have the bases covered, I just need a good destination.
I would really appreciate any suggestions.
Connie

I hear it gets crowded at times.

I've not been out to any of the clubs in DC.

Connie, it's best to not limit yourself. Be confident in who you are. Ask yourself "Where would I go if I weren't wearing a dress?" Then go there.

Be safe. Be smart.

Personally I loved the Smitshonian! (http://www.crossdressers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=107328)

Georgetown is always entertaining. And good shopping too. The mall obviously is a must do. And not the one with stores:battingeyelashes:

Hi, if out en femme, and looking for a club type atmosphere, you will fit right in at Zeigfields, near the Nats' stadium. I've gone out there and my only complaint was that the drag show was too long and left very little time for dancing. For something a little more laid back, but just as accepting, there's always Freddies in Crystal City on 23rd, near Arlington. The owners are great, and one of them has put my drinks on the house each time I've seen him there--very cool! I also like Apex in NW DC. It's a gay club that is patronized by everyone, regardless of orientation. It's a pretty traditional dance club other than that fact. "Town" in the Shaw district in DC is pricey, huge and has a really young crowd. I've gone twice and didn't like it much either time. Hope this helps! Enjoy your trip.
