Another I came out thread

Hi girls-
I just came out to my sister and brother in law tonight. I was totally shocked by their ease with it. My sister say she needs to look things up on Goole to understand what I'm feeling. I tried to explain the best I could about my feelings but she's the inquisitive typte and needs to have all the answers at once. My brother in law was fine with it knowing that I'm still the same when we do things together. My sister thinks I need to come out to my other 3 sisters but this was a big stepand I think that will have to wait for a bit. Anyways it's just nice to know that I wasn't shunned or laughed at and I'm really glad I finally was able to be honest with them.

Great, Jasmine ! Coming out to friends or relatives feels so good; I used my Halloween outing for an opportunity to come out to my best friend and his wife, and (as I expected) they were both totally accepting, and she gets a big kick out of the whole thing.... Why, she even just had to bring out a couple of blouses and have me to try them on and model them for her ! I also came out to the child care lady who takes care of my little boy, and she has been getting a big charge out of it ever since - even gave me a pair of ladies' corduroys for Christmas, as she knew that I needed at the time to acquire some more femme pants.....

that's really great, Jasmine. I admire your courage and applaud your Sis & her SO's reaction. I do think you'll be happy when you can come out to your sisters - maybe even have a posse to shop with!

Oh and I thought walking out the door and going out with strangers I knew dressed and thus accepting was difficult until I did it and then I felt so much better....
