I have decided to "transition" - in fact, I am well under way - I am happier than ever before in my life - I fought this for way too many years - once I accepted that I am and have always been a female since birth, the rest has been easy (well, sort of). I am facing all of the issues that all of you have had to.

I have my counselors/therapists. I have my endocrinologist and my hormones. I am removing all of my body hair. I am planning my surgery date.

I am happier than ever before in my life.

I hope that all of by trans-brothers and trans-sisters will accept me - even though I am happy, I still need a lot of support and hugs.

I would love to hear from all of you - this is a really big step in JoAnne's life.

Welcome, but please, dont refer to Joanne as if it is someone else. Makes things easier for you to admit who you are.

JoAnne there is the obvious that many haven't said but it is that you have been welcome and a sister for a long time. Being transgendered puts us all in the same family and thus a sister. For your benefit though I do want to say you are very welcome and keep us updated as your journey unfolds.

Good luck, Joanne help from online friends and acceptance by real life friends makes transition a little easier.

Feel free to ask any questions of all of us, we are all at different points on the same journey, some are further along and some are just beginning but we are all sisters. Kimberly Marie Kelly :battingeyelashes:

Yay for Joanne!!

Oh, and I'd say most of us feel dysfunctional at times.
But now that I'm starting transition I feel less dysfunctional than I have in my entire life.
I only feel dysfunctional now when I have to be a "boy" or am around family/friends who aren't accepting.
