Like many, I have fallen victim to the economy and had to go apply for food stamps today. Not that big a deal but, not exactly the place I wanted to go alone. Got very anxious as to how it would go knowing that most of the clientelle would be less than "enlightened " to people such as myself.

I got there and, low and behold, just as I thought, PACKED! Went in had a seat and waited my turn. When I got called, a very nice older lady escorted me back and as we were walking said, "He couldn't come today huh?" Rather than yelling, I waited until we got back to the picture and fingerprint area at which time the nice lady addressed me as "Margaret", my wife's name! I told her 'No, I'm Dael" and gave her my id which not only has a manly picture it has a bearded manly picture. The sweetheart never batted an eye she just asked me my social to prove it was me.

After that was done went back to the waiting room and waited some more. After a few, the same very nice lady came out, called my name and gave me my card with the loveliest "knowing" smile!

It turned out to be a very nice time as far as such a trip could be and , as a bonus, I got to see my first id with my "new" picture on it! It felt wonderful!

I can tell your fkying high know.......that just goes to show you can't tell where you will find an enlightened person knowdays. All we can do is educated people one person at a time and reenforce whoever else we come across. Good for you.
