Several weeks ago I went enfemme to a new salon for hairstyling and a pedicure. The salon just opened this year so it is still rather quiet. The upstair is where the nails and skincare services are done and it is very roomy and nicely furnished. The all women here are really into fashion and beauty. They all dress nicely and are quite polished in thier appearance (some stylists I've been to look like they are on the way to the gym or something).
Dawn, my nail tech was super, she really took her time and was just great to talk to. Dawn was well dressed with near perfect makeup. We talked fashion and beauty (she also does makeup). I mentioned that I am still working on my feminine manerisms and that it is difficult to see how I am doing with them. I said wlking in heels is still a challenge. She also did flowers on my two big toes.
Denise, the owner did my hair and it came out nice and as I was leaving I asked the owner if she or maybe Dawn would be willing to help me with my deportment. She said she would check with Dan and let me know.
Well last Tuesday I went back for another pedicure but first had Dawn teach me some things. She did a great job. She had glasses for me to use for drinking practice, we went over sitting and standing, of course walking in heels, arm movements, waiting in line, opening doors, grasping items, climbing up and down stairs, adjusting and checking my clothes, mirror usage. She even, without me asking, covered restroom conduct. I hope to practice and return in a few weeks to see how I have improved. She had a real positive approach but still gave me many pointers.
The pedi that followed was nicely done. Another thing i learned is that it rarely hurts to ask, they just may say yes.
