One year full-time and SRS appointment

It's been one year since I started living full-time. I chose this particular date last year because it was Trans Pride Day in Montreal, which concides with Christine Jorgensen death anniversary.

I have been on hormones for 16 months and am having my first consult with Dr. Brassard June 14th. Things seem to be moving fast, but it took me 43 years to get here.

Concerning Dr. Brassard: In Quebec, he is the only doctor integrated into our public healthcare system. He will be the one doing the surgery. I am seeing him on June 14th to get a date for the surgery and to find out if I will be needing a skin graft or requiring some extra electrolysis. They may be better surgeons, but considering my financial situation, it is Brassard or no surgery.

Congratulations Frances. Would give anything to be able to do that. I have been fulltime and accepted everywhere as a gg since July 2, 2007.

In this country unless you are in prison, you have to pay for it yourself and the insurance companies wont cover any of it, including the hormones unless you can trick them.

My longtime gg friend actually knew Christine Jorgensen. She worked in Christine's lawyer's office at the time. I think that is one reason she is totally accepting of me and other transpeople.

I will be full time in Jan 10, and sincerely hope it will not be long after that i too have my appointment with Dr. Brassard.

I have been told from many sources including professional, he is the best there is.
