I don't know about all of you girls, but it seems that I start working out more often when I start cding. Always wanting to look better and possibly fit into cuter stuff. I try to watch how much I eat and drink so does everbody agree that cding leads to better health or not. What is everybody's thoughts on this issue?

I think it definitely helps some of us to live a healthier life. Not only by the exercise but the reduced stress of being us.

I walk 5 miles a day just so I can wear misses sizes. Being a CD is healthy.

I would have totally agreed with you until Tuesday morning!

You know how they always say "Hit the ground running"? Well, I can tell you it is a really bad idea! I was out for my morning run when I tripped over a mismatch in the sidewalk and "hit the ground."

Fortunately, I didn't land on my face nor my forms! But there was a certain amount of pain from "the boys," who, at the time, were tucked and got landed upon. I wonder if landing on one's ovaries would feel about the same or not.

Anyway, once I get past the pain in my intercostal muscles I should be fine.

Otherwise, absolutely, positively yes! An intense desire for getting and keeping a more feminine figure has given me a whole new outlook on diet and exercise. Salads are the new steak!

I think its more of a personally dependent thing BUT

Its true lol
The more I work out and trim myself down, the more I see my female figure come out and the better my clothes fit. It makes me want to work out more and diet so that I can get better results with my female clothing. I have been wanting to get a little black dress for quite some time and that has driven me to lose some weight to fit into prettier sexier things. I think it does contribute to an overall healthier me because not only do I get the results I want as a female, I get a few compliments as a male to0 which boosts my confidence on both sides. If there is anything more attractive than the physical, its confidence in ones self.

I have always stayed healthy and in good shape. It is a challenge for me to sit still long enough to watch a whole TV show (television, that is).

You just have to maintain the right perspective. If I do not like what I see when I look into the mirror, I just pack up my house and move. :heehee:

Ohh yeah!! When I got serious about crossdressing again 6 years ago I lost 50 pounds in 9 months (220 to 170). Started playing ice hockey (65 games a year).. eating better... BP went from high to low. Cut out salt. Heart rate at rest droped to 42... Last weekend we had the daughters bf's parents down to help us move them into a new apartment. All heavy folks. They died half way through the first load. And went home at 3pm.. I work 14 hours straight in the rain and still had eergy to spare! Yeah!! Being healthy and fit is just amazing expecially since pushing 60!

When I dressed more I ate less thus I lost weight, when I dress less I eat more and I gain weight. Now I am trying to balance myself becuase I am now in the dress less phase since I am working full time again.

I would have to say that it depends on how accepting you are of your self and if you have any support.Girls are the same as any woman that go out . we all want to look well be thinner etc. if you are afraid and yes I can understand that that fear. it can cause you to gain weight.

This has been something I have been working on for a while. Since I went out as Kara for a walk, I have been itching to go and exercise because I have the motivation that if I get thinner, I could buy cuter things :)

Lots of Love,
Miss Kara

About 3 yrs ago, I had a medical condition, I was on hormones, a testosterone blocker, for a year as part of the treatment, I gained over 50 lbs. Felt ugly as a male and couldn't even consider cding. Went over 2 years without dressing. After pigging out this past Thanksgiving, having hit about 275 lbs. I happened to look at some of my lovely dresses, now much too small. Made my mind up by my birthday Feb 10, I would again fit into them, size 14. No special diet, no special exercise program, just cut beer way down, cut the pizza, cheese steaks, greasy foods way down, ate better healthier foods, smaller portions, did eat lots of cabbage in wraps and soups. Was 255 on Jan 1, was 225 on Feb 10, fit into all my dresses by Feb 1, now 218. My goal is to stay around 215, as I have all of my girl clothes, my wife clothes, who encourages me to wear whatever I want of hers, I'm healthier, back pain is nearly gone, and like Karren had said, all the numbers are down to a normal or lower range......Sorry for the length of this post but, if I can do it, anyone who has a significant goal can do it. The power of CDing for me has improved my physical health and I am soooooo much more relaxed and less stressed.....I wish anyone who needs to lose some weight the very best of luck !! Madilyn

I always "wished" I could lose weight, and I did manage to keep my weight around 245 - 250 (which is way too much for me), but after my Doctor's appoiintment yesterday . . .

Let us just say that either I lose 15 - 20 pounds in the next six weeks or my scheduled surgery will be postponed.

Which will bring a lot of things to a more ahh, definite conclusion.

So, I will be pounding the pavement every morning and evening (it took an hour to go three lousy miles this morning!), looking for something on my plate (food, for which I may need a magnifying glass) and watching the scales as they breathe a sigh of relief.

Love to all,

Jo

PS: I could use an extra prayer if you have any to spare.

Love,

Jo

I have exercised and eaten healthfully for over 12 years now and I am very pleased with my shape now, But what has also happened is I have become very fit and that has had a big impact on my life.I can do much more than I could 12 years ago. A win, win situation!

Funny thing is that I started realizing that when I worked out more and losing weight, I started looking more and more like the little boy that I was - at which point, it wasn't too difficult to see that I could potentially CD and pass as a female. So I did and I'm still working out.

Admittedly though, junk food has crept back into my life as of late due to the necessity of filling my stomach with food but I'm hoping I can figure out a way to cut down on that. I don't want to lose whatever figure I have!

I suppose if one is determined to lose weight and improve muscle tone for the purpose of looking good, then CDing might be a positive. of course, one could do both those things w/o CDing, so maybe there's no cause / effect relationship.

Will definitely do that, Jo. All the best and please keep us informed.

Thank you girls for all the responses. Another thing that I forgot to mention is all the nice workout clothes that ladies get to wear and enjoy. I have bought several outfits from Lady Footlocker. I always look forward to wearing my femme workout clothes and thus motivating me to exercise. It is one of few times that I get to dress out in public since I lack the confidence to dress and go out.

I agree, but for those who are now motivated, don't push too hard at first; slowy build into it, the results will come.

I am sore as all get out this morning, walked my three miles yesterday morning and evening then again this morning. Found muscles that I did know existed!
