Ever since I've seriously put thought into crossdressing, I've noticed that I've been trying to improve my male wardrobe as well. I'm not very much a "just a t-shirt and jeans" type of guy now unless just going to the corner store or something, but I'll wear shirts that fit me better and nicer fitted jeans or pants. I've also been caring a bit more for my skin. Seems like the want to expand and improve my femme clothing has helped me improve my fashion overall.
Anyone else dress better or pay more attention to what they wear enmale because of their desire to crossdress?

I feel the same way! Instead of just resorting to my usual look I'm kind of exploring different items of clothing and styles that I wouldn't have looked at in the past. Works out quite expensive buying new sets of clothes for two though ;).

I probably neglect my male wardrobe a bit - spending all my money on my girl clothes :)

It wasn't more than a few weeks after I started learning who Tina was that I began to observe professional men where I work. I was appalled!!! Terrible posture, terrible dress, bushy ear and nose hair...omg. And skin! Forget it. There was no moisturizer in sight and no "male" has a clue what "toner" is beyond the reference to a copier!

That did it on the spot for me. Posture, dress, skin care, and even a little careful makeup (clear mascara or a slight bit of light brown), trimmed eyebrows and hair definitely under control!!!

I was suddenly very thankful for being bigendered!!!

My cross-dressing was actually a direct result of staying fit, eating healthier, and dressing better as a male. The question arose whether or not I can "pull off" feminine clothing and totally be a femme. Sure enough, the answer was yes! Now, the balance is tipped towards me getting a lot of femme clothing at this point since I have a ton of guy clothes, so right now the challenge is doing a balancing act between the two!

Nose hair is something that just disgusts me. I don't see how guys can look at themselves in the mirror with the fur curling out of their nostrils. Apparently, they don't look at themselves in the mirror.

I remember when a General on M*A*S*H made Frank Burns trim his nose hairs. As Burns was looking in a mirror and trimming the hairs, he was commenting that he had never noticed it before and asked his tent mates if they had. Hawkeye replied, "I just thought it was an ingrown mustache."

As for myself, my male wardrobe hasn't improved that much since my crossdressing took off 18 months ago (been dressing off and on since the 1970s). But Skin care, including shaped eyebrows, the loss of the mustache, and daily facial moisturizer, and fairly regular pedicures have come to the forefront.

I agree, I'm paying more attention to both personalities!

I have started to moisturize my face and my body. Wow has it made a difference! Before serious CDing, I thought I was doing great skincare by using a scruffy to wash with every week or two. Hmph. So much for that idea!

I've only recently decided to put a little more $ into my guy clothes since I put so much into the girl stuff. So I wore what I thought was a simple little outfit to see clients one day last week (fully underdressed, of course). Just a casual shirt - fitted, tailored to be worn outside the pants, linen, with a subtle white and two-color design that built to the bottom hem - slacks, socks and shoes. The slacks were khaki's that matched the minor color in the shirt and the same color of the suede shoes. The socks matched the second color of the shirt.

I thought it went together okay in the morning, but figured it was nothing special. Well, all day long people were making outrageous comments about how great I looked! I mean, one woman even stopped when I greeted her at a door, saying, "Wow! Just wow!" then continued making comments as we walked down the hall.

It does a girl good to get compliments on her appearance, no matter what mode she's in. :battingeyelashes:

While I don't care about my male clothes, I do care a lot more about my skin. I try to take care of myself more since I accepted that I was a cd'er
