I'm just looking at all eventualities at the moment and this is just a general question aimed at MtF hormone treatment.
I've read that one of the effects of the hormones is a change in the lens of the eyes. I'm planning on corrective laser eye surgery for short-sightedness in the next couple of months, and obviously if the lens of my eyes will change with HRT and will cause my vision to become distorted again it would be better to abstain until after HRT.
Does anybody have any experience of this, either directly or as a one of the number of effects listed by the doctor? How does the lens actually change? I've heard it increases the perception in peripheral vision and doesn't actually effect the focus ability of the eye, but I'm unsure if this is just a myth.
I know my best bet would be to ask the doctor at the consultation, but since my appointment to see my gender psychologist hasn't even come yet I'm still hesitant about this sort of stuff.
Cheers,
