View Full Version : Hmmm ... Kilts

Hi guys
Over in the MTF section there was a follow on from a thread that I think started in the GG section that was about skirts and pants, and the wearing thereof and the femininity therein.
http://www.crossdressers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=132315
In it I pointed out that as MTF CDer, when I'm in boy mode, I like to wear a kilt. While it isn't a "man's skirt" as such, in design it does resemble a feminine garment as much as women's trousers resemble a garment associated with men.
So, my question is to the gentlemen here, would you wear a kilt?
I don't really want any MTF folk replying here saying that they would, cause that's not the question (such things have happened with another thread I started a while ago about boxers or briefs!), although I suppose I reply that says that us girl would love to see you guys in kilts wouldn't be off the mark :daydreaming:

Well yes I do wear a kilt. I wore one for my handfasting. Only time I will wear something close to a "dress" LOL.

These are really something special:

And check out this leather kilt. I'm linking to the photo only, not the product page, as the product page also has some not-safe-for-work items on it. :P

The top isn't at all to my taste, but the kilt, with a plain white tee? Yow.

yeah, kieron brings up a good point. I'd rock a kilt if I had the facial hair and deep voice to back me up.

Hell yes I would wear a kilt (hellOOOO, Scottish boy here!) :D But if I wore one, it would be a PROPER kilt, none of this leather wannabekilt rubbish TYVM - a full 8yd kilt in my clan tartan, nothing less, and not with those military box pleats either, a proper traditional kilt that you have to pleat the entire 8yds and lay on it to put it on.
Oh and Kieron, a kilt is NOT a skirt. :bigsmack:

My spouse has one of these, and when he puts it on, I have played the wife and assisted in pleating and belting. Always felt like that was the wrong way 'round though. Eventually I sewed some cheat pleats in, so I wouldn't end up feeling weirdly wifely. Now when we get garbed up in tartan, he dresses himself and I wear a fairly masculine leather tunic.
I think any kind of kilt would look very feminine on me. :/

Bwahahaha you volunteering to buy me one? ;) The only reason I don't own several kilts is because they are damned expensive. Otherwise I'd have one or two in MacBride tartan, and a couple in Kerr (Ancient, Hunting and Modern versions) as a nod to my late great-grandmother, to whom I am far more closely connected than anyone after her in my family.
And if I had a kilt, you can bet your boots I'd be posting pictures of me in it ;)
My answer is:
:sf: O flower of Scotland
When will we see your like again
That fought and died for
Your wee bit hill and glen
And stood against him
Proud Edward's army
And sent him homeward
Tae think again
The hills are bare now
And autumn leaves lie thick and still
O'er land that is lost now
Which those so dearly held
And stood against him
Proud Edward's army
And sent him homeward
Tae think again
Those days are passed now
And in the past they must remain
But we can still rise now
And be the nation again
That stood against him
Proud Edward's army
And sent him homeward
Tae think again :sf:
Of course I would. I'm looking to buy a kilt as we speak...got a wedding coming up in November, and it's in the Scottish Highlands...so aye, it's a really Scottish wedding for really Scottish people! ;) [Marc isn't included here cause he's English MWAHAHAAHAHAAAAHAA].
I know I shouldn't wear underwear because normally REAL SCOTTISH MEN don't but I don't think I can help that in any way. Sooooooooooo...
Jockstrap + packer + Kilt = sorted :thumbsup:
And the best thing is, I’ll be post-chest op by November so wont have to worry about the top half of myself not looking right.
Me and Dan were talking about this yesterday, strangely enough: Kilts (http://www.geoffreykilts.co.uk/index.html)
Mines would be MacDonald of the Isles, modern.
--------------------
right now there would be no way in hell i'd wear a skirt,
The English refer to it as this because they have nothing to show their national identity LOL awww blessums :heehee:
If the Kilt had been something of English identity, it would be a Kilt, not a skirt.
The end ;)
My legs are too epic to show to the public. :D
But no, I'd probably not wear one. I think kilts are pretty cool, but my lack of personal want to wear one is part of my culture. I just don't have any inclination to wear one; no desire. If I ended up in one, I'd probably feel weird.

*sings along with Nico* or then there's this one, probably best sung whilst wearing a kilt and getting oneself as blind drunk as possible.... ;)
Cam Ye O'er Frae France (Trad)
Cam ye o'er frae France? Cam ye doon by Lunnon?
Saw ye Geordie Whelps and his bonnie woman?
Were ye at the place ca'd the Kittle Hoosie?
Saw ye Geordie's grace riding on a goosie?
Geordie he's a man, there is little doubt o't;
He's done a' he can, wha can dae wi'oot it?
Doon there cam a blade linkin' like my lordie;
He wad drive a trade at the loom o' Geordie.
Though the claith were bad, blithely may we niffer;
Gin we get a wab, it mak's little differ.
We hae tint our plaid, bonnet, belt and swordie,
Ha's and mailins braid - but we hae a Geordie!
Jocky's gone tae France, and Montgomery's lady;
There they'll learn tae dance: - Madam, are ye ready?
They'll be back belive, belted, brisk and lordly;
Brawly may they thrive tae dance a jig wi' Geordie!
Hey for Sandy Don! Hey for C*ck-a-Lorum!
Hey for Bobbin' John, and his Hieland Quorum!
Many's the sword and lance, swings at highland hurdie;
How they'll skip and dance, o'er the bum o' Geordie!

I woud have thought that a kiltwould be a good opportunity for you guys to show off your hairy legs, just as I wear skirts to show off my shaved legs.
