My bride and I spent a wonderful day shopping after church today. It consisted of a tour de force of Kohl’s, Macy’s, Penney’s, Beauty Brands and Gordman’s. We had a great time and found some wonderful purchases. Peri changed into some new sandals she bought at Kohl’s because her flats were killing her and she immediately received glowing reviews of them from one of the first SA’s we met at the mall.

Several tops, some shoes and the cutest little pink sweater later we were on to Beauty Brands and the most entertaining part of the day. I owe you a little background information. My last trip to Los Angeles I got a manicure from a shop that Sara Jessica recommended. I chose the most wonderful OPI color. It was translucent lavender with just a hint of sparkle to it. This color is very subtle and works great because it doesn’t show chips at all. My wife and I have shared the bottle since I returned from that trip. Unfortunately, there has been one issue. The bottle I purchased from the manicurist did not have the name of the color on the bottom of the bottle. For the last three months we have diligently searched every OPI display for this color and were unable to find our beloved color. Until….

Today! We found it at Beauty Brands. I was on the phone with my daughter when Peri found the color. She snatched up the bottle with the fervor of a professional shortstop snagging a hot ground ball. She turned the bottle upside down and then filled the store with the melody of her laughter. The name of the color…Significant Other. I started laughing so hard that I had to hang up on my daughter. Coincidence, I think not. Irony with a subtle hint of appropriateness, definitely. We will never forget the name of that color. There has never been a beauty product more aptly named. It was a highlight of a perfect day with Peri.

Sounds like a wonderful day Suzanne! Now that is an easy name of polish to remember (probably why OPI does that). So now I am going to have to try that one.

Wonderful for you.
Exactly the sort of thing I mean when I speak of "Those Little Things"
The planets and stars are perfectly aligned at one particular place and point in time. "And You were there". Just can't get any better ... even the name is perfect , and to find it while having such a nice day together.
