Which Side Do You Dress?

Hi!

I'm Persephone from the MtF side, but for some strange reason a stray thought out of my past came to me today and I thought I might pass it along as a tip here. I hope y'all don't mind.

Have you ever gone to a custom tailor or high-end store (Brooks Brothers® comes to mind) for a suit or trouser fitting and had the tailor ask, "Which side do you dress, sir?"

Are you aware of the question?

It means "which side does your male member normally rest on?" The tailor asks so that he can allocate a little extra room on that side.

Well I didn't know that they even asked it at all because I've never been to get fitted properly for a suit, lol. But thanks hon I'll be sure to remember it, and I dont think anyone would mind you posting it here coz I'm sure I cant be the only one who didn't know, and it will save us any confusion or embarrassment in the future :)

I never had a tailor ask me that. And I've been fitted for suits several times over the years.
I never heard of a suit being tailored to allow for something hanging.

I certainly have heard of that, but as yet have not been fitted personally for a suit.

I was aware of this, yeah. :) Wish I could get a tailored suit, though, so I could actually have something that fits me.
