I couldn't believe what I saw today. I was at he VA in Ann Arbor, MI and as I waiting for my appointment, a guy, form the VA, asked if I was into taking a survey. So I agreed. It was a BS survey, but at the end, It asked you age and your gender. The choices were male, female and transgendered. At the VA and there was nothing for name. But transgendered listed at the VA, unbelievable...BJ

I can't believe it. My VA is at Great Lakes near Chicago, It would be interesting
to see if that fly's over here. Rader

Must be the Ann Arbor influence. Its about time they realized there are lots of tg people in this world. And some are veterans.

I am surprised since the VA is usually 20 years behind the times.

But, I sure hope that they are looking to help us.

I think Ann Arbor is a whole different world. At Grand Rapids, you have to be there 15 to 30 minutes early. Battle Creek, if you are a few minutes late, no matter how far you have traveled, they will reschedule. Ann Arbor they told me if you're a little late, no big deal, we're flexable. And at the other 2 places, your appointment time is when you are seen. Even if they aren't busy, nothing early. Yesterday I got there early and my test was done, 5 minutes before my scheduled time. Nice place, too bad it's a 2 1/2 hour drive.
Now for the bad mews, GR said my artery in my neck was only 63% plugged, yesterday they said it was closer to 90%. So I have to back Tuesday to see one of the Dr's. But travel pay was $101.85....BJ
PS. Today I start seeing a gender identaty counciler.

They must see a lot of transgendered people. Maybe you become TG when they give you some vaccine shot and they don't want to tell people. :D <JUST KIDDING>

A few years ago I worked on the Pentagon Renovation and we installed unisex toilet rooms for the Trangendered working there. I did not know how many would be working there but that is what the plans called for.

BJ as a vet and transitioning it has been a concern of mine as I am getting really close to retirement. Here in Minnesota at the VA in St.Paul there are about thirty gals who use the services and from reports I have heard they are treated well.

Yes Teri, one of the ladies here, told me she had to get her treatments thru Battle Creek and was assigned to the womens health section. So I guess there is some hope. But not here in the city of hollyer than thou ;-)..BJ
