YES!, my appointment for the Gender Clinic has finally arrived!.Feels wonderful to know things are going forward, even if slowly. The appointment is on 1st Feb 2011.

I might go private before this to at least get started on Hormones.

Saturday was a wonderfull day for me, as my close friend from work had invited me to go and watch the football at a pub in St Margarets with her and some of her friends. To put this in contex, I have dropped lots of hints about having Gender Identity issues etc to her, but have never actually told her outright about anything.

Anyway, on Saturday, I was shopping down in Wimbledon, when I suddenly realised that there was no way that I could go home, change back to Tom, and meet her at the station as she had asked. So I phoned her on my mobile, just said outright that I was shopping as Maryanne, and there was no way I could go home and change, so was it ok, if I came as I was. There was a stunned silence on the phone while I guess she was trying to take in what I said., so I repeated it, and said I was cool with it, and was she?

She then replied Yes, of course that would be fine and just to let her know when I had arrived at the Station, and she would come and meet me.I think she was hugely relieved to see me look quite normal, and in fact said, I looked awsome! We then walked to her friends house who lives near the pub we were going to to watch the game, and had a glass of wine and a chat. Her friends cottage is lovely. She lives on her own and had recently had the house redecorated and the bathroom redone. Lovely!

We then went to the pub which was totally packed with football fans and we met some more of her friends, and watched some of the football.

After the game, the friend with the house asked me if I would like to come back to the house for something to eat. So there I was with 5 other girls, having a lovely time, chatting about all sorts of things, - their boyfriend issues etc! It was awsome. My first social occassion with the girls. I thought afterwards, that I wish I had a photo.

One of the other girls I met at the house and I left together,as we both had the same train to catch. We had a lovely chat on the train. She gave me a hug and kiss, when she got off , one stop before mine.

So things seem to be going too smoothly - see my earlier post about telling my boss. Since then, she has spoken to one of the trustees, and he was totally cool with it, apparently having experienced it with one of the other companies he is involved with! He was apparently only concerned with me and my family.

There must be a curved ball somewhere out there waiting to strike. I'll take things as they are for now.

Next step - full time at work!

Take care,

Love,

Maryanne

That's great news, it is going to be hard to wait that long I know.

It's so cool that your friends are accepting.

Not everyone's transition is a nightmare. So far I have been blessed beyond any realistic expectation, I hope you are as fortunate. I think attitude has a lot to do with it.
