Not a big drama moment, just a moment worth sharing. Tonight I decided I needed to pop down to the drugstore and pick up a few things ... some dark red toenail polish, an eyelid base, face powder, and the jar of Kiss nail remover. I'm not dressed or anything. (That is, I'm passing as male, at least to the extent that I usually do.)

So I can't find the eyelid base. I ask a sales girl, and she's all, "Your wife sent you down to get this stuff?" I just said, "Whatever."

As I approach the cash register, the woman who was on duty is gone. The guy who is now on duty is very male and obviously works out with weights, plus there are a couple of bearded guys in line ahead of me. This is annoying, but I'm past the point where it's a big deal. I get in line.

The guy at the register says something about "buying all this makeup." I just shrugged and said, "You never know what you might need."

The point being, first, it's none of his business, I don't owe him an explanation; and second, if he's looking for me to act all guilty and embarrassed, I'm not going to give him the satisfaction.

I live in this town. I buy stuff at the drugstore sometimes. Whatever. :battingeyelashes:

In every life some dorks must, . . . ummmm, be themselves? Good reactions, Jenna.

It takes all kinds of people to work behind the cash register!! Sometimes even complete "dorks" or whatevers!

Some people need to be reminded they work in retail.

Makes me think of these:

If everyone would mind their own damn business and keep the pie hole shut if they have nothing good to say, this world would be a lot better off. I think you handled the situation very tastefully.
