I finally did it!
Inspired by Skirt Sports (http://www.skirtsports.com/) and their Skirt Chaser 5k races, I've been trying to get up my courage to do my morning run/walk in a running skirt.
It's taken me about a year and a half of having a couple of running skirts in my wardrobe, but today was the day I finally did it!
We were talking about my morning run/walk at dinner last night and I admitted that I had never gotten up the courage to wear one of my running skirts.
My son said, "You might just want to wear shorts under a skirt if you're going to go running."
I said, "The skirt has shorts built in."
He said, "There you go. So what are you waiting for?"
So this morning I wore my beige Izod running skirt with a green tanktop.
I don't believe it garnered any extra attention, although I'm not quite sure. Was I getting just a bit more notice from the drivers on the streets? Was traffic just a nanosecond slower at the crossings? Hard to tell.
I did seem to get one yell from someone in a landscaping truck, but it was in unintelligible Spanish, so I'm not sure of what he might have been saying.
It was different from running in shorts. The undershorts in the running skirt are lighter than regular shorts, so it definitely feels cooler and more breezy. And the hem of my skirt was at just the height that I could feel it more than an ordinary skirt as it swung back and forth.
Kinda fun, and definitely a girly thing to do!

Particularly terrible picture, but I was in a rush.
