Hey there all, I am a bit new to the whole CD experiance and while I have a wonderful girlfriend who supports me in everything I do, I have not really been 'out' in public dressed. I was wondering what are some things that can be done to make one feel more feminine without outing me. These things don't have to be totally covert (I wear feminine earrings from time to time.) But things to wear or do that might be sexy, but subtle.
Thank you all so much!

I often go out in clothes that are not overtly feminine. I have pants, shorts and tops that I wear out all the time. I even have a pair of loafers that feel delightful to wear but are not really noticeable as feminine.

One thing I do is when there is a gathering 3 or four couples, usually the guys get together, and the gals get together. I join the gal's group and talk about girly things. Subtle, but feminine. I also pluck my eyebrows.

Hello, As much as I want to, I've never been able to go out fully dressed either. My build alone would be a giveaway. A friend told me I was built like a short (5'8") line backer! Anyway, to feel more fem and enjoy my trueself I always have my toenails painted (always the same color as my wife's!!!) my legs are always smooth and I only own panties, not just plain cotton ones that would pass either way but, cute designs and colors, lace and little bows etc. There is no way you wouldn't know they aren't womens! All of my tennis shoes and most of my dress shoes are womens. Most things are not seen, but we know they are there, the shoes aren't heels or real fem looking but we know they are! So all this together makes me feel better and alot more fem when I'm out on the town! hope this helps! Kaitlin:)

I like the ideas so far ... it's a lot of fun getting a manicure or pedicure. Especially when you go all the way and get UV nails or colour.
Other ideas ... wear a woman's watch, wear a ring, wear or try on earnings. These items can range from male to female along a continuum. Push it more toward the female end, bit by bit - as you feel more comfortable.
Also, shopping. If you are used to saying "it's a gift for my wife (or girlfriend)' ... work up the courage to look the SA straight in the eye and say 'it's for me'. Get a discount card in your female name ... and enjoy. Most SA's will treat you fine ... they want your money.
Go to the drive through, after you have your nails done ... it's fun to pick up a drink, in guy mode, with long or coloured nails.
Carry a woman's clutch purse or wallet instead of your usual guy wallet.
Carry your laptop computer in a woman's carrying bag instead of an overly business-like computer case.
...
Of course, it's even more fun to do out fully dressed. But, you asked.
Hugs

I have worn womens watches for as long as I can remember. I have small arms/wrists so a mans watch looked huge on me. So I wear a woman watch which looks much more proportional to my body. I have never had anyone say anything about them. Now I'll admit, they are usually the fem version of a guy watch so style doesn't give it away, but I have worn a fairly fem watch a few times and still no one says/notices. All my shoes are fem (tennis/dress/sandals), all my slacks are fem, most of my tops are fem and yet I present male 24/7. Its the little things we can do that let us be ourselves knowing who we are deep inside...

There's always under dressing too. Wearing your favorite pair of panties and bra (if you can pull it off) under your guy's clothes can be fun and give you a feminine feel covertly at the same time :P

Yes getting a pedi is fun. But as far as shopping, it's better to tell the sales person that it's for you, They'll help you find things that you like and make sure that you are getting the right size. Most of those people want to keep their store open and keep their jobs. And a happy customer will come back. Believe me, I've got a platinum card at LB, Ave and VS. If yoou really want to have fun in guy mode, go into LB and ask for a bra fitting, they will do it for you...BJ

Me too! My watch is not "that" feminine but you can tell that it's a woman's one, but no one has ever said a thing to me, and I even wear it to work!
If you are looking to "femme it up" a little but not stand out too much then there a lot of good suggestions already. I would recommend wearing women's jeans, t-shirts, and sneakers. The t-shirts in particular can go either way. Plain and ordinary and almost looking like a guy's one or something a little more obvious (like a slightly scooped necked one) and of course you can always wear them in a color that's a little bit more femme but not too "over the top". Like say purple or coral.

The number one thing I do is take my hair out of a ponytail and "let the freak flag fly". That, in itself, is loads of fun. Keeps the conformists guessing. Love to wear my NRA ballcap. And all the while I chuckle at their cluelessness.
I have a subscription to both Cosmopolitan and Glamour magazines home-delivered, in my femme name. I live alone.
Keep 'em all guessing. That keeps 'em off balance. Unsure what to think or do.
Advantage me. And I'm an enigma.

A very special friend of mine taught me that you can be in girl mode anytime. I lotion my legs or hands. Walk a little girly down a deserted hall at work. Cross your legs at your desk. It is all a state of mind.

Like someone mentioned earlier, I keep my toenails painted 24/7 as well. Another thing I do to feel feminine but don't feel like/have time to dress is do things online like play games etc. using my girl name.

One of the things I started doing years ago was wearing womens deodorant. Adding that little bit of femme scent makes a big difference in how you feel.
Also crossing your legs as mentioned before can make you feel more fem anywhere!

You can practice your walking, body posture, arm swing, anytime. Doesn't matter if you're in girl mode or not. Just focus on doing the right things. If you;re shy, note that men don;t notice those things (but many gg's do).
I also like to wear a corset under my male clothes. Perfect in winter, not so much in summer (need to wear dark, ample shirts) but worth trying, and continuous use of a properly tightened corset really shapes your body.

As the old saying about gender goes, "It's between the ears." You can watch TV, mow the lawn or gas up the car and if you are in a mental Feminine mode, you are doing feminine things in guy mode.

When you want to start pushing the envelope, go get your self a pair of neutral capris and a silk shirt. I like to wear a pendant that is quite fem and if asked ( which i never have been) i would say it is in memory of ( pick a name) Now that you have gone out in your capris and silk, try a light brown eyeliner and a coat of brown mascara. Don't over do it and it will do wonders for your eyes. I always shave my legs and arms so when i do all this, it gives a slight to overt feminine look depending on color, style etc. People know there is something going on but they can't quite saw - thats a man mommy and he is wearing a dress!!!! by the way, you can get the capris at teh thrift stores for $ 3-5.00 along with the pendant and silk shirt. Don't forget a modest pair of earrings if you have your ears peierced. if you don't, that should be the first thing you do. A pair of diamond studs goes great with that outfit.
