Hi everyone

I wonder if any of you are like me in the sense that i love to get all dressed up, do my hair, make up and nails. When im not Makayla im such a boy, i love my cars and off road buggies, spending time in the shed working on them and getting dirty. So my question to you all is do any of you live a life like mine? Are you a manly man yet still the girly girl?

I work in a corporate world, and build customized cars, I love being all out in both aspects of my life, the people I came out to never saw it coming, not one clue gave me away, the tweezed eyebrows, the lasered hair, and the ear piercings.

I can be bad as I wanna be  and Im a cute vixen when Im Angie

next step is to make gender a fun thing to play with! :hugs:

I adore being Rachel, I love dressing and being my other me but I also like all the other things in my life too that are quite manly, yes the mechanics, motor bikes, fast cars, great garage to work in, so yes I guess I am very much the same, I like both Me's

If I could look this good doing the cars then I would be famous! hahaha

Yes Makayla, I am exactly like you.

I enjoy very much the guy things in my life, working on my old truck, deer hunting, fishing, watching college and NFL football, checking out the bikinis at the beach, and the most important, providing for my beautiful family.

But, I also enjoy letting Kelli Ann come to life when I can. I love the feminine feeling of shaving my legs and applying make up, putting on my wig, wearing high heels and pantyhose, looking and admiring that beautifully transformed woman in the mirror or camera, and having that feminine feeling that we all here share in common.

In my opinion the balanced life of guy and girl personalities is very healthy. It is kind of like politics. The right and left or conservatives and liberals keeps this nation in check with each other and is a proven system that works.

Even though I am in male mode almost 100% of the time, my heart is with my feminine side and I think about crossdressing alot. This is where the balance comes to life.

I wouldn't have it any other way except finding more time to explore my feminine side.

Huggs,

Kelli Ann

I think it's a mispercieved idea that people who crossdress are'nt masculine.

Maybe it's because we are quite masculine that we feel a desire to connect with our feminine side.

Hi Makayla,
I'm probably kinda just like you, as are, I'll bet a lot of other girls like us. I tend to go both ways (masculine / feminine) quite well. When I'm dressed for a night out, it is often in the latest trend (adjusted for a woman of my age) which is refined femininity. When I'm doing boy stuff, I'm not all macho, but more butch female in attitude (opting for some articals of female clothing that are unisex or not overtly effeminant). I love extreem out door sports (I used to be a gear head, gut got into things that were quite but fast). When I'm not being pretty, My partner and I rock climb vertical cliff faces, Kayak in the lakes streams and ocean around us, bicycle overnights over hills and dales. We typically do things that everyone male and female do. I try to live my life, and wear the appropreate clothing and attitude for what it is that we are doing. Since it's not convient to wear make up hiking up Mt Washington, I don't.

Add me to the list that is like you. I enjoy my masculine side as much as my feminine side. I work in a rather masculine job and always have. I'm very mechanically inclined as well as other so called masculine endeavors, such as plumbing, electrical carpentry etc. I can and do get my hands dirty, but clean up pretty well in fem mode.
There are a lot of non-CD men that you might say... a screw driver has one to many moving parts.

Yes Makayla, I think a bunch of us here are exactly like you describe. There are those of us that take our personas to the extreems with ultra masculine, high adrenaline jobs and hobbies, and then very feminine and soft clothes and accessories to relax. Both here and at my Tri-ess meetings there has been discussions about our old muscle cars, camping and hunting trips, the cool new tool that we just bought, the thing we just built in the workshop etc. I think it is healthy for us to have a balance like that and not let it tip one way or the other to far. I love being out in the garage under my Firebird and out in the shed turning an old hunk of oak into something beautiful. I also love picking out something cute to wear, drawing a nice hot bubble bath and spending the evening playing dressup. But it's a different kind of love and for different reasons.
So don't worry about it and be glad that you are a balanced person that seems to be well adjusted to the struggle going on inside you.

Absolutely. I love both worlds. Hunt, fish, build, tinker, mow, father, watch/play sports. Make up, dress up, take pics.

I definitely am a man most all the time and enjoy a lot of different hobbies. Maybe that is why I look at the dressing as a hobby too, but one I think I enjoy more than the others.

Yeh me too. Love doing all the manly things I do or enjoy, and never felt I was over compensating.

I'm right with you, Makayla. I spend my days reconstructing people's jaws and present as a male professional in that field. I have no gender-specific female hobbies. All are very male oriented, although not gender specific, e.g. offshore sailing, competative rowing, cross-country skiing & hill walking. I'm madly into planes, trains, cars and civil engineering structures, e.g. bridges, buildings, dams &c. &c.
Maryesther is thought about constantly, and purchases for her adornment are made usually on the Net. Her appearances on this planet are carefully planned in advance, choreographed in front of a camera and the results canned for further editing and my own personal pleasure. She herself must languish stuffed way in boxes secreted about my premises out of the way of prying eyes, alas, until she is invited to re-appear....

I think it's a balance thing. It's like the high-powered executive who goes home and plays sub to his wife's dom.

If you've never been to the excellent blog at femulate.org , check it out. The author recently went (as Stana) to a ham radio convention where he's well-known as Stan. I think ham is pretty much male-dominated.

Most of us here live that type of double life. Some of us here would like to live as a women 24/7. I like the thought of living as a woman 24/7, but I think in some aspects I would miss some of my man side, not much of it, but some I would miss. I too love to work in my workshop, work on my cars, and just be the general fix it guy. I love my electronics.

Now one could always say " What a Man can do, a Woman can do better". My best advice and peace of mind for you is simply, "Be Yourself".

Yep - there are more like you out there. I have very distinctive male and female sides. It probably screws with females minds to see such a difference between the 2 but still in the same body and happy to be there.

Makayla,
Much like you I enjoy all the manly things I learned growing up. I am a typical motor head. I love to race cars, ride motorcycles, and work on anything. On the flip side I have a huge fem-side. When I came out to all of those close to me no one could believe it. Needless to say I left a whole lot of people slack jawed. I know from reading posts here that there are a whole bunch of CD'S just like us. :D

Yes! I have different worlds and the two do not meet. That has always been my delema, I love being a woman and I also love being a guy and doing guy things. I spend time riding my motorcycle, driving my hot rod and in general doing guy stuff. But there is the sticky part sometimes the two over lap and I really need to be careful. I am such a girly girl at times I just can't help myself. for me it helps to have a wonderful GG girl friend to help me when the pink fog roles my way. With her I can be the both and she loves both of me, LOL. Thank the gods.

Like most of the other replies, I live two, somewhat, parallel lives. My male side loves sports and enjoys playing golf with guy friends, playing tennis with guy friends, or watching a game with guy friends. None of them have a clue that there is another side to me. The Cheryl side loves all of the things that most girls on this site enjoy, i.e., the planning, the preparation, the clothes, etc. I don't see the two sides merging and I'm not sure that it matters to me.

I'm the same way, when I'm in male mode I enjoy watching sports, fishing, camping, playing video games, and just hanging out with friends. When I'm dressed as Jessica, I usually just watch tv or movies. Although I have found that I don't mind doing housework as much when I do it dressed.

...confirmed crossdressers here, that's kind of like asking if the Pope is Catholic.

A more pertinent question with a far shorter list of respondents might be "Who among you do NOT live a life like mine, and are you NOT a manly man yet still the girly girl?"

Most statistics seem to indicate that approximately 90% of true crossdressers are completely heterosexual and do all the usual "guy" stuff when in male mode. In fact, many of us seem to gravitate to the stereotypically male high risk/high stress occupations that often entail a great deal of responsibility and accountability. This has led to one school of thought on this subject to the effect that it is our way of initially denying this feminine part of ourselves and trying to over-compensate by attempting to be more masculine than other males when living our day-to-day, regular lives.

I used to be a "manly man".

I was in Special Forces; I jumped out of airplanes with 100 pounds of gear, used weapons, established forward airfields in hostile territory, all that stuff. I did double centuries on my bicycle (200 mile rides).

Enough of the bragging. I don't do that stuff any more, haven't for ... 18 years (wow). The manlies thing I do now is ride a cruiser motorcycle. Again, wow.

But I sure do look purty (in my mind) in makeup, with a light touch of perfume :-)

Yes! Been blue collar all my life, have spent many thousands of hours all dirty, greasy, or muddy, working on cars, other blue collar jobs. You would never know i was one who liked to get all dressed up!

Danielle Piper
07-25-2010, 10:13 PM
Yes, I'm definitely a "manly" man- Vietnam veteran, drive a jeep rubicon, like to jump out of airplanes, etc. When dressed, I consider myself all girl. I love both worlds and there doesn't seem to be much overlap. Never have worn female undergarments when in guy mode or wanted to. It's the transformation that's fun to me. I know it sounds egotistical, but I feel that I am more of a "whole person" than non-CDers.

I absolutely LOVE my girly side, every last aspect of it from the clothes, to the makeup, the jewelry, the pampering, and of course SHOES, oh and did I mention SHOES? :D I would be lost without my girly side.

That being said, I LOVE my guy side. I have 25 years experience in the automotive and machinist fields. There isnt much I cant do on a car, auto trans, differentials, motor building, machine work, welding, fabrication, and pretty much everything you can think of. I have build 100s of cars over the years, and now manufacture aftermarket parts for them.

your post really caused me to ask myself how I feel about my male persona. I came to the conclusion that I really enjoy both my male and female personas. While I would like to have more opportunities to express my female side I would not want to be female 24/7.

I have found this conclusion very comforting!

Dani941

I usually am both of them at once. When i'm Daniel though, sometimes Dani sneaks out. I'll be at a store with some of my guy friends and I'll be staring a a girl and all my friends think im checking her out when I am actually thinking, "Damn, I want a body like that!"

AmandaM
07-27-2010, 10:27 PM
It's funny. I like women's stuff more than men's. I don't like working on cars. I don't like motorcycles. I don't like sports except the NFL, and I don't watch college football. I don't like men's fashion, at all. I can barely purchase men's clothes. I hate it when men try to talk to me about sports, cars, etc.

But, I love warfare. I love weapons. I love war movies. I love anything to do with combat. I have a weapons collection. I've trained with all of them, ancient, mideavel, and modern. My hero's growing up were Wonder Woman, Isis, Amazon movies, etc. Strange, but true.

Thanks to this thread all I can hear in my head is the Monty Python "Lumberjack Song" - :)

I too do the "manly" stuff in the shop and around the farm - in fact just finished loading and hauling in a bunch of hay. Sure is hard to have nice girly hands after all the grease, blood and busted knuckles! But that probably fits better w/ my overall body type

Come on Amanda - we all know that college FB is signifcantly better than the NFL.:tongueout

I had the exact same question! I'm glad I used the search function. I enjoy doing plenty of "manly" things like offroading, shooting, and working on things around the house. But at the same time I would rather watch fluffy TV than an NFL or MLB game. I guess the two sides really balance each other out!

So my question to you all is do any of you live a life like mine? Are you a manly man yet still the girly girl?

That's a big fat YES!
And you better believe its a good thing that we can enjoy life on both sides of the fence.
Long hair, perfect nails, stockings and heels arent really appropriate for the 60k mile cambelt change (those cam locking tools will tear the fibres right out of your best wig, and I cant imagine that 10k mile old castrol 10w-40 is the easiest stuff to get out of pink satin blouses either). :tongueout

But yeah I have loved and tinkered with cars (to the best of my limited know-how), I play guitar (lots of Metallica), love PCs/overclocking/case mods (deffinately no friend of Steve Jobbs), and I spend unhealthy lengths of time on call of duty MW2. But when Im all girlied up, I just wanna brouse the internet for pretty underwear, clothes, shoes blah blah blah.

Celebrate the fact that we have the ability to choose our mood and how we express it by means of appearance.
There are probably a lot more people than you think who are a LOT like you, me and everyone else who answered yes.

Just remember not to service your brake calipers with false nails on...
Dot 4 doesnt just ruin paint! :)

I know that I am really bucking the trend here, but as I have grown more and more into being Nicole I have lost much of my desire to do manly things. Oh yes, I still love to watch a good NASCAR race, automotive programs and anything dealing with aircraft, but I enjoy these things while painting my nails or hemming a skirt.

I use to drive race cars, ride motorcycles, and do my own auto repairs, but most of this has lost it appeal for me. Today, I'd much rather style my wig and try different makeup color, of course while watching that NASCAR race...

Would it be weird if a girl was into cars and the like? A bit of a gear head? No.

I love being girlie, but I was definitely raised by my grandfather (who is a mechanic and restores Corvettes). I love cars as much as the next person...and, know more about them than any guy I've ever dated.

I also like guns and knives.

Okay, so that last one might be weird.

But, my point is...GG's are both girlie girls and enjoy "masculine" hobbies. Why can't you?

Like everyone else here, i'd have to say I'm the same... used to play rugby and enjoy it but over the weekends, at home in a satin nighty, I'd feel really girly... and I like both sides of it

<<<< See the description to your left.

I'm just at home with a table saw and a mapp gas torch for plumbing, as I am with high heels and eyeshadow. I like my collection of Gibson and Fender guitars, as well as my closet of dresses. There is no single stereotype of crossdresser or transgendered. If I take this further, permanent hair removal will be the last and final step for me.
Put me in a sexy cocktail dress on a saturday night, and I'm happy. Put a wrench in my hand to fix an engine block on Sunday, with grease and bloody knuckles and I'm still happy.

Find your peak....find your center, and go with it.

I love to dress in gorgeous clothes, I love a skirt I love makeup I love scent and stockings and heels and wigs, pretty things and my own perfect gleaming nails.

The rest of the time, I rebuild 2-stoke engines, I crawl about under cars, I set fire to things I am restoring two soviet classic cars at once and I do all the guy stuff and yep... I love that life too. See me at the weekend, one of 4 guys in the garden leaning on cars watching girls and discussing hydroplanes, heavy metal, teenagers today... We looked like the guys from King of the Hill.

For me, it's how I know I'd never go forward towards transition or full-time, I love being a guy, a boyfriend, a man, a father and a brother just as much as I love being a girl.

Also.... Wow ! So many of us seem to be COMPLETE petrol heads here ! :)

So my question to you all is do any of you live a life like mine? Are you a manly man yet still the girly girl?

No, I’m girly all the time, pushing the male out of my mind as much as possible, replacing that tired, old bag of lame excuses with something more beautiful. Actually, I just bring the female forward and let her take over, even though male and female are two parts of the same thing, namely me. I cringe at the idea of being “manly,” which finds its expression in MtF crossdressing quite naturally. Oh, I can appear manly, if need be, but I’m only acting, my dear -- you can't be two things at once, or can you?

I so wrestle with this, because although I dont feel like the manly man, I have to present that where I work, with homeless people. I can be compassionate, but I also have to be able to show not only a certain macho, but also that I can be a dangerous person if I have to be. Im not saying that some of it isnt me- as myself, Tanya, I still wouldnt let someone mess with me. I would still be packing my .22 in my purse (I have a concealed carry permit), as much as I do behind my belt, or in my jacket pocket if Im wearing one. Course, the best shot I know, is a friend of mine's wife, who uses a .357...

Tina is such a high-maintenance girl and she loves it.

My guy side loves getting dirty in the garden, throwing around my two chain saws, working on my tractors, doing carpentry, doing plumbing, etc etc.

When in Rome...as they say, so when I'm masculine, that's what I am. When I'm feminine, I'm just as committed to that gender side of me.

And I do love both of me!

:)
