I use the same Gillette GII razors for my face, body and limbs. But, as my electrolysis progresses and I reach the point where I don't need to shave my face any more, I will probably change to girlie razors for the rest of me.

Mach III for chest, stomach, back; Venus for my legs. Yes, it gets expensive; blades and shaving gel don't last long when one is as hirsute as I am.. Ah well, that's just part of the price for happiness I guess. I have NEVER regretted starting the defoliating process; I just wish I'd had the courage (and opportunity) a long time ago. Hell, I would be broke by now though, instead of going broke that is. Olivia

Hi Barbguy,

I just switched from the Gillette Mach III to that Schick Quad. They're about the same price so that's not a problem. What gets expensive is that I use a new blade very frequently even though I'm really not that hairy. The reason is that a sharp blade gives the best shave for really smooth face and legs. As far as shaving cream goes though, I find that the cheapest I can get works just fine. I usually buy Colgate Sensitive Skin in the 14oz. cans on sale for .99 cents. And I don't use much. My therory is that the razor floats on the shave cream. So if you have a thick layer, the razor doesn't cut as close. If you shave often and go slow, you'll avoid razor burn and get wonderfully smooth skin! Good luck experimenting! :)

Schick Quatro for me as well. The four blades do give a very close shave, the best I've found.I also use Skintimate gel,I know it's expensive but I'm worth it.

Use a Mach 3 for most everything, although I do use a Schick FX for touch-up work because it's got a smaller head on it. Especially useful around the nostrils where the Mach 3's head is inset too far to get everything.

I use Gillette Mach 3 Turbo on the face, when I'm lazy I have a remington electric shaver, does a pretty good job in that it feels smooth just doesnt last as long.
My wife bought a Venus razor and didnt like it so I acquired that for my underarms, legs and bikini line, finally found some shape "down there" I'm happy with.
Always used gillette GEL either sensitive or moisturizing.

The wife even like me shaving the bikini line, I haven't told her about the dressing yet so wonder if she has any clues based on the shaving. She did make a comment about me painting my nails if they got any longer when I was slow in trimming them.
I just hate to cut my nails once they look like they will hold a decent coat of polish.
OMG off topic again.

When the chest, arm, leg hair grows out more than a couple millimetres, I break out the Venus Divine & Skintimate gel; I use the same routine as w/ my mug: once over with the grain, then back over it all against the grain. Once it's all off - IF I don't skip more than two days or so - I find it much easier (and cheaper) to keep it off with a basic Panasonic Close Curves wet/dry rechargable (no battery expense) electric (~$20, Target).

Also, I've found out through trial-and-error that the #1 factor in keeping sharp blades (especially when removing heavy growth) is this: rinse that blade often! I mean, if you can see any hair on the blade, rinse it! It's time-consuming and it slows down the process, but since I have taken to doing this religiously, blades last me twice as long, easily. And as we all know, those buggers are pricey!
