I thought i'd share this with everyone, I've got my 1st appointment at the Nottingham Gender Identity Clinic on 6th September, & although i'm really excited that hopefully my lifes going in the direction i want it to, i'm also a bit nervous, which I expect is only natural, has it's my 1st one, so I was wondering if anyone could tell me what i should expect when i go

Can't tell you what to expect, since you're ahead of me on this one, but I can tell you how pleased I am for you :bighug:

It is natural for you to feel nervous, but remember that they are there to help you to get the best outcome possible for your future.

Hermione,

I've been attending Nottingham GIC for about two years now, the only advice I can give is - be yourself. The two doctors I've seen there have been good, but they do follow their protocol closely, so don't expect early HRT.

I'm now 6 months into my RLE and been on Hormones for three months now.

Thank you both for your replies, since I posted this thread, I've managed to read their protocol on the website, so I kind of know what to expect, & if i'm being honest, I think the 2nd appointment will most probably be the hardest for me, not so much the writing down part, more about remembering everything, & deborah, thank you, has i'm not expecting early hrt anyway

Hermione, congratulations first off as this is a big step. Secondly just be yourself and remember they are there to help you find your path. I wish you the best and keep us informed. Also ask questions there as well as here. We all want the best for you. Teri

I thought the 3rd would be the hardest but then again I'd done the "Life Story" bit 6 years ago on my first referral (but for personal reasons at that time I couldn't progress)

Thank you again for the comments, & yes, i'll try to keep you updated has well as i can when the time comes around, & deborah, i can see where you are coming from about the 3rd appointment, but imo, if the first 2 go well enough when they come around, hopefully the 3rd should be more or less conformation
