I was astonished this evening. I couldn't believe my eyes and ears.

I had taken two of my grand-daughters to the mall to get their ears pierced. All of a sudden an uproar started near the center court.

People running from everywhere,a man was screaming at his daughter was my first thought. Then the words became clear, she was cd. I have never heard such filth and slurs from anyone. A crowd of young girls (gg's)had surrounded her.My instinct was to run to her side,to protect her.
The girls weren't tormenting her, they were keeping her father away, shielding her with their own bodies.
As he tried to get through them, two young men tackeled him and held him till police and security could arrive.
I've lived almost 63 years and never in my life have I ever seen young people act in this manner.
It gives me hope that one day the acceptance we all need will be there.

Those young people were hero's and heroine's in all respects.

It is very good to see, such young girls put there life on the line for another human being wether the person is homosexual or transgendered.

It is a shame a father could attack his own flesh and blood like that even if he disagrees with his son or daughters way of life.

good on these girls for help and the two guys that wrestle the father to the ground...

It is amazing that the fact that she is transgendered camr out in such a public place. I would think that this comes out in private almost all the time. It was fortunate for the girl that it did come out in public, and there were friends to protect her from her father. How sad, though for their relationship. This will take a long time to heal.

That's a very sad and yet very inspiring story. Amazing bunch of kids, maybe there is hope :)

Freddy, she probably did it in public knowing that her Dad might freak out violently, just a thought ;)

Wow! The very thing that we stereotype young people to do, they turn the tables and amaze us. They are some special folks there. As for the CD, that kind of behavior is what gives us such a bad rap.

I think everyone is confused! If I read Danni's Account correctly, she said her FIRST THOUGHT was that it was a Father screaming at his Daughter. Then she kind of "infers" that it was The Child's Father. I wasn't there, and maybe there is something else that Danni picked up on to assure her that it was The Father, but We have no evidence that he was. Much more likely, it was some "Citizen" who had appointed himself to be a Vigilante, and the reality is that we don't know what The Fracas was about.

However, IF she was TG, and IF she was being protected by her peers.....that's pretty cool!

Peace and Love, Joanie

there is good as i have seen it many times before, just most of the time it is much safer to just not get involved, not not just bodily. (we have way to many under-worked lawyers).
but it is great to hear about such great people, it does not matter if kids or adults.

here to the kids for helping out. :hugs:

The Youth of today get a bad rap on so many levels, but Incidents like you described,Danni gladden the heart and show that not all kids are bad
.they were Indeed Heroic

On the other hand this "Fathers" attitude towards his flesh and blood sickens me to the core,There is no excuse for assualting and instilling fear in your child, there can be no worse thing in my mind than this

Sad but true more often than not. Big reason as to why i was in the closet for so long. Actually made me wonder how violent things were at home for some younger cds.

But definitely good on those kids for doing what they could

I'd like to think that a lot of young people would be receptive to something like a CDing nowadays, after all, there's been a lot more mainstream discussion about this and other things that were "taboo" a decade or so ago.

I somewhat liken this it to my upbringing, where gay and lesbian lifestyles were normal and they were not scorned by anyone in our family, not even my grandparents. It's funny how when I started interacting with people my age, gays and lesbians were "not cool," but I always felt that it was a normal way of life.

I think this is why this translates to my treatment of CDing. It's more important to live your life the way you want it to be rather than inhibit yourself and breakdown because you need to live to other people's standards.

Yay and you are right. Young people today are superb and very comfortable with us. Time is moving on. The Father's reaction was also understandable although clearly terribly put. Young people know and enjoy us for what we are and what we bring to their world - freedom. There is hope but not for a while yet.

Thanks for the story.

the "man" (animal) was not her father. He was a pervert, trying to pick up a young girl. 19 and from out of town, just enjoying an evening of shopping. I didn't see how it all started ,but from the accounts that i've heard today it had also became physical.
How anyone can be that bigoted and irrational is scary. So much hate. So much fear.

I'm happy to report that Marie is doing great after this happening to her. She suffered a few bruises and torn clothes is all.

Well it's great to see young people that are so helpful and understanding. Now if we could just turn around the old farts, the world would be better. With more like that, there is hope for the world...BJ

I am still confused.

1. The person being attacked was a teenage TG person?
2. The person doing the assaulting was a grown man, not her father, tried to pick her up and then realized the teenage TG person was TG and attacked them for being TG?
3. A group of young GGs and two cisgendered males came to her aid?

On the other note, for me growing up there was plenty of violence in my home directed at me (and my mother), not because of issues of gender per se but just because he was a terrible (and childish) man in general. Did it influence my transvestism? I grew up in constant fear clinging to my mother, so I am sure it didn't help.

Vicky, the answer to all your questions is yes.

WAS the yelling guy her father of just some random A-hole? If that WAS her father, just imagine - she probably has to go home and face that sooner or later.
Your post makes me SO proud of most of the young ones. I honestly think I would have had to have said something to them, make it clear in some way that I thought they were heroic and wonderful.
