Last night we had a fabulous family get-together as a going away party for my wife's niece who will study in eastern Canada.
Later my son and I drank a few beer and got into some heavy sh&t. Out of nowhere I told him I was a cross dresser. His reaction was amazing. "Dad all people have gender issues" Just relax. He's 27yrs old. Today I'm on cloud nine. Just now I told our two younger sons. Same reaction. "Why is your generation so hung up on gender issues"?
Right now-my wife and I feel so liberated.I'm walking around the house in my favourite skirt in front of everyone. No nasty remarks or snickers.
Just wanted to share with all my girl friends.
Love,

Patty.

Too bad that's not the reaction we can expect from everyone! Good luck to you and your wife.

It goes to show you, you can never second guess what family will do or anyone else for the matter.

I am very happy for you and wish you a lot of wondeful times.

HUGS Sandra

That is so awesome to read.

Now if only it was the rule, and not the exception.

Girls-thank you so much. I'm over the moon. Thank you all.

I think my adult children would be way more accepting than my wife is. Probably my grand daughter and her husband too, except I'm sure they would be concerned about me confusing my great grand daughter about sexual roles.
You are a lucky individual to have things work out this way for you!

Not that is a positive reaction that many of us would love to have:)

How great!

I wonder... their reaction was similar enough to each other that it sounds plausible to me that they found out about you years ago and already thought it through and made up their minds.

Sandra- good question. I asked my son if he had any idea about my Cding.None whatsoever was his reply. I truly believe his generation is bereft of my generations hangups.

Hi Patty, I am so happy for you. My own family reacted similarily when they were told about my being a CD. They were more upset that my wife and I were divorcing.

That is so cool Patty and I am very happy for you! So far only my wife and her best friend know. I think most of my kids would accept me. May think I am crazy but they would probably come around.

I know a few people that back in the 1970's if your husband found you with another woman he had the legal right send you to the sanitarium. At that time the thought was that electroshock therapy would get the lesbian out of you...So I think our generation is a little more skiddish about things.

Congrat's on coming out to your boys...

That is so cool Patty! I don't think you could have gotten a better response from your son. Sounds like you two have a really good relationship. Anyway congrats! Enjoy having one less weight on your back :)
