Yesterday I had to take my wife to an appointment. As we sat in the waiting room there was another couple there and the man had one of those fanny pack purses. You know the ones you can either wear as a fanny pack or put the strap over your shoulder like a womans purse. He had it over his shoulder like a purse. My wife leaned over to me and whispered to me that I should get one of them.
Driving home later out of nowhere my wife again brought up the subject of the guy's purse and how she thinks I should get one to put my stuff in. You see I used to carry my wallet in my back pocket but after all these years I found sitting on it hurt my tailbone so I now carry it in my side pocket along with my keys, coins, cellphone and lip moisturizer. I'll love to have one rather than walking around with pockets stuffed full. Also as Vicki I would die to have one :daydreaming: and I know that eventually it would feel completely natural to my feminine self, :o but I am hesitant being in my fifties and wondering what my 2 grown children would say.

Vicki;
Go for it.
What your kids would say is something like: "Wow Dad, it's time you got smart"!
Or you can have your lovely bride get one for your birthday, or even just agree that she did.:)

Hi Vicki, I have carried one for years, a shoulder bag that is. I started with one that you might call gender neutral but no more. Now I buy my purses where other women buy theirs and I won't leave home without it. I'm 62 and have concluded that no one really cares what I carry and it wouldn't matter if they did. Go for it, and let your wife help you pick one out. it will be fun.

I'm guessing you mean the carryall device we (in the UK) knew in the 1980's as a bum-bag ?
What's wrong with a Handbag or a purse ?

Just tell Jack Bauer carrying a bag is feminine! Man bags or messenger bags have been around for a long time. I'm waiting for iPad V2 to come out and as soon as I get one I'll get a 'bag' to carry it. Go for it.

"Its a European shoulder bag!" lol! To be honest my dad is not accepting of me at all and we don't talk much. He carries around what I like to call a "Murse" (Man-Purse). I tease him about it every once in a while. I wouldn't tease if he was actually accepting. He has gotten electro on his chest, underarms and back as well. So tbh I am really starting to wonder about him. Oh and he drives a bright yellow mustang. He chose that one over the red, black, and dark green ones they had.
I think it is a great idea tho. I wouldn't have a problem even dating a guy that carries around some sort of small bag. In todays world there is just too much we need to have with us at all times. Even for men. They should have there wallet and the things that go in it. Cell phone, Keys, lighter/smokes (if they smoke) and lord knows what other types of documents or other things depending on their job or if they have children. I know many men out there would rather carry a small black bag instead of a diaper bag.
I personally think its a great idea. Good way to get used to carrying a purse as well. I can't tell you how many times I would leave my purse somewhere when I first started carrying one. My trick tho was that I would get small ones (that just barely fit what I HAD to have and that had long straps and would wear them across my chest like a seatbelt lays. That way it was always on me.

Yes you should!!!! My wife and I went out shopping yesterday to Kohls, they had a sale and a 30% off coupon if you use your Kohls card. We bought several nice tops and two purses, one silver grey and the other was Teal. We figure we can trade off depending on outfits. I am not big on purses but needed this one for a trip I hope to go on.

Since i may switch from car to car I carried one to keep my stuff in. A few jokes at first but acceptance since then.

I have had a black leather fanny pack/purse for years and love it. My wife and I went to Las Vegas about 15 years ago, she got tired of me handing her my stuff to keep in her purse while we were on vacation so she is the one who made the suggestion that I get a fanny pack. I got to where I depend on my fanny pack, lol. I have never had anyone say anything negative about my fanny pack, maybe a look occasionally but I've also had compliments on how practical it seems...by other guys.

I got mine for the same reason. To thick of a wallet. But the one I got has a valcro pocket in the back, designed to be used for a holster, for your carry gun. Some times there is a gun there and some time it's my check book...BJ

My wife purchased a very beautiful brown leather Balanciaga messenger bag which I have adopted and now carry almost all the time
Just go for it and nobody will even notice.

I would not carry a fanny/bum bag, but I have carried shoulder bags for at least 20 years now, my kids would ask where it was if I didn't have one. Got quite a selection of shapes, sizes and colours, but recently bought a new Kipling bag that has both shoulder straps and a hand strap. I find that I am increasingly carrying it as a handbag, even in drab.

If you want it, get it. I would say more, but people beat me to it. It's a practical item and I think it would be well worth it. And if the Vicki you is dying for it, you can satisfy both things. This is what we call a win win situation.
