Over the last couple of years, I've read many descriptions and buzz words to describe our lifestyles, not to mention the abbreviated versions of ts, tg, cd. ad infinitum.

There is one term I've never seen here.

How many of you would have a problem with being called a he/she?

I can't imagine any way that that could be meant to be nice.

Hasn't happened to me yet.

No thank you! The only time I have seen that term was on bad porn sites, I also don't like the term chick with d#$Ks either. Cross dresser, Transvestite, TG, Pervert, Weirdo, any of this names I find better.

He/she is awfully close to *******. I prefer crossdresser. All that means is that as a guy I dress in clothing customarily worn by women, without any explanation as to lifestyle, cause, or extent. Other words, like drag queen, female impersonator, *******, and others, often connote extra meaning.

Since my wife died some years ago I go out dressed enfemme, but presenting as a guy! On occasion people have called me a "he/she!" I correct them by telling them that I am a Crossdresser!! Never had any problem with that!

He/she & ******** are terms that I find distasteful & disrespectful, when I present myself as " Arlene " I would prefer to be called a woman, but crossdresser is fine. :)

anytime I have heard this description being uttered has been through ignorance, and even hatred.I have had to bite my tongue at times when I have heard it being mentioned. As far as tranny goes I have heard other girls call themselves by It and I have used it myself so I think its a perfectly valid description (It may of course be a UK/US divide issue) although it can be used as a negative comment but he/she is just plain wrong on so many levels

I cannot think of any positive way that I have heard that used in. Even if one of us was to use it, it would be like a black person using the N- word, which most of my african american friends themselves find offensive.

even as a child, I knew that the term "he/she" was derogatory. Then again, I hate labels, so I'd just like to be called a person. I don't really care about pronouns, though I prefer using the feminine pronouns and references to describe myself.

I'm me and you are you. That's all I need to know.

Depends on the person my friend. You can either be offended by it or turn it around and use it to your advantage. Some folks give up to easily when it comes to this stuff. Besides you can call me anything you like, just make sure you pay me.:battingeyelashes::)

He/She gets used a lot in Pornography. For people who are NOT doing/enjoying/writing Pornography, it is considered a Pejorative! And that's probably reason enough to not use this term.

He/she does sound pornographic.

Crossdressing has nothing to do with sex, especially with such seedy sites.

lol,

"he/she" is one of those old terms that is still used on sites where guys view TG issues as anomoly sex objects, almost in the same light as experimenting intimacy with animals.

"one of them he/she dudes"...

Like it is some alien interface only explored on a dare.

I guess it is just further evidence that "Beauty fades, but Dumb lasts forever".

Don't kid yourself...there really are people in real life like the charactors the actors portrayed in "Deliverance".

Oh dear, I have been living in an outpost here in German-speaking Germany for half of my life. I haven't even noticed the term, Shari. Thanks for posting and making me aware of it.
Coming to grips with the range of (positive) terminology in the transgender community has been one of the most difficult aspects for a junior member like me. gaby

Unfortunately so many ignorant people tend to assume that all cross-dressers are gay and I find that really annoying
