I'll be in Minneapolis next week; can anyone suggest places to go en femme?
I'll be there alone, so I'm looking for places that are friendly and not too wild or crazy. And if you know of any hotels that are open-minded, please let me know. Your suggestions are appreciated! Kay
Kay, if a gay bar isn't out of the question, I'd like to be the first to suggest the Townhouse bar in St. Paul. They are very accepting, at least on Thursdays and Saturdays... the only nights I've been there.
Other places, depending on your comfort level: there are several very nice parks, several malls (Southdale is nice and not terribly crowded; Mall of America is, predictably, crowded), museums and libraries.
What kind of things do you like to do? To see? Perhaps an impromptu Girls' Nite Out could be arranged with the other Minneapolis gurls... check the Minnesota thread(s) in the locations forum (can't remember the proper name).

I'm just getting out and about for the first time on Saturday so I can't really recommend any place other then the Gay 90's in downtown Mpls. That might be to wild for your taste as you mentioned. The Uptown area and the Loring Park neighborhood are very open-minded areas. Some interesting Boutiques and cafes in the Uptown area. But I think you really ought to meet up with someone. I'm not sure if I am ready to do so, but there are other gals on here from the Twin Cities area.

I wish I knew of other places to go out too while dressed en femme. I have been to the Townhouse Twice (both times on Thursdays) and I had a great time. This club has an outdoor area as well (although it is right on the street) but both times I had a great time without any problems at all. I would recommend this place especially if you like the drag show, it is very entertaining and the other people are very friendly.
I have thought about going to the gay 90's (another club but I have not been there, its a bit bigger than the Townhouse shich scares me off a bit still.
I hope you do get a chance to get out and mingle. Good Luck- Oh by the way the show starts at 9pm om Thursdays. not sure about Saturday though, actually, I didnt know they even had Saturdays.

Bethany Marie, Shelby and Kerigirl - you are so thoughful. Thanks for your suggestions. The Townhouse does sound like a possibility. I will check the Minneapolis thread and hope that an impromptu can be arranged, if not this trip then the next, I'll be in town Saturday night the 18th and would like to meet you.
What do I like to do? Shopping of course, people watching, good conversation and, forgive me, having others find me attractive en femme.
Sweet dreams.
Hi Kay
You can PM or email me if you'd like. I'd love to meet you.

Kaytrans,
I was up at my land in far northern Wisconsin last May and, one cool rainy day drove from Ashland County to "the Cities" dressed as 'Denise". I did my makeup, nails, and hair and was wearing a cardigan with knit top underneath, bootcut jeans, my Pierre Cardin dress watch, hoop earrings, and some 5" brown wedge sandals from Target toes and nails polished, threw my gold tone purse over my shoulder and off I went. I stopped for coffee at a McDonald's in Ladysmith then cruised into Minnesota on Hwy 70 then down I-35 to Mall of America. Sure, lots of people, a moderate amount given it was a Tuesday, but I blended in. I didn't look a lot of people in the eye rather I kept my eyes on "window" shopping but I didn't shy away either. I tried on shoes and walked around in DSW (buying a pair) then went through a few other stores. I went outisde at one point and smoked a cigarette sitting and the enjoying the scene no differently than any other girl would then went back inside. I left MOA and headed north stopping at a mall I can't remember just north of St. Paul off I-35E and switched shoes. I had on 6" Teagan plastform sandals under my jeans and went in the mall through the Macy's entrance. Looked at the perfumes and dresses then went and tried on a few shoes there as well. I stopped for gas further north and went oto a convenience store and bought a snack and coffee.
Juts do it!!
